Default some more methods

Sticky shoes: (it's silly, but hey, it's safe and easy too)

For small flat items that can fit under the toe or upward arch (in the middle) of your shoe: prepare by putting an inversed loop of packing tape flat on the bottom of your shoe. Go to the store and walk to the isle of the targeted item without touching the tape too much to the floor so it stays sticky and also so you don't make a bunch of noise. Now with no one around or looking, look at the item you want, then act like it's not what you need and put it back, but drop it on the ground before it reaches the self or hanger and walk away carelessly. Come back in a minute through the isle and pretend to unknowingly step on the item and have it connect to your shoe's sticky tape...now walk out the store.
NOTES:
1. make sure the item doesn't have a magnetic strip on it
2. make sure the item isn't fragile.

Trade:
Only works for pocket-sized items in this trick, and without a magnetic strip (do you remember yours having one?)
If your item is electronic, backup and erase all your personal data off it always first.
Now, Find the exact same item (or VERY similar one) in a store that you have with you in your pocket. Works best if there's tons of them close to each other on the shelf. set yours down in the middle and look at different ones. go to the next isle and look around for a minute. Now check your pockets and freak out a little...mumbling "where's my...?" "what the heck...?" "where'd it go?" . Now go to the previous isle with your item in the pile of others similar to it and look around. Now realize where you left it and give a little slap to the forehead..."Uhg! Duh, there it is!" go over and pick up a new one thinking it's "Yours" you left say "Here's my...<item name>!" put it in your pocket. If anyone asks, get irritated and tell them, I brought this one to the store to compare! I already bought it a long time ago! Return it to your pocket and look around for awhile, then leave. Even on the security tape, they can't prove anything, because it's "clearly" the item you originally pulled out of your pocket *wink* *wink*
This can be risky, but it's the technicality of the matter! If it's the same color, but just a little less scratches and everything, there's gonna be a hard time proving anything unless your original item is total junk or extremely obvious in that pile.

Free Drink:
Go to a big grocery store and grab a drink. open it and starting drinking it as you walk around the store, then chuck it in the trash. I've done this many times in a grocery store, no one cares.
Probably won't work so well at a store that doesn't really specialize in food and drinks...such as an office supply store, or any small stores.
