To get the thread back on track:
Heres a little brainstorm for finding troops and supporters.
- Radio. If you have an inside man, you can slowly creep more and more of your supporters into the staff until you can control the bulk of the broadcasts and advertising. Just like Christianity. Using this you can schedule mass rallies while still staying under the radar of mass government.
- TV. Two or three dedicated supporters would be able to get internships and staff positions on political channels and public access channels so that they can blackmail and push your views into the broadcasts.
- Internet. Anyone can make a website now. You can make a pair of websites where one is your visible sheep massing movement where the other one is where you send out coded messages to your generals/leaders. You can also pay for people to mention your campaigns on sites that has a big user base of people that DONT support you. This will make people more willing to join you seeing as a trusted source of information is telling them that your party is the right choice.
- Military. You can rally support within a military by paying for little benefits along the way. Little things that make the troops love you. A few examples would be buying plasma screens for their overseas bases that say 'My political movement supports you brave men and women'. If you have enough people, eventually they will not obey orders to fight you seeing as so many of them ARE you.
- Politics. Blackmail and payoffs are a great way to get your laws passed. Also if you ever need to found a facility, it would be good to have someone that can make it get done without any problems.
