Just something to add to this post. The detectors at the doors are basically useless. The staff of stores are told that there is nothing they can do if you set one off. Now if your followed by a detective or caught on camera they will be waiting for you to leave and your busted. Too many times I have made legit purchases of items with strips only to have the checker not deactivate them properly, and when going out I have set them off. The first few times this would happen I would stop, try to find the offending item and then I would have to find a checker to deactivate the strip properly. However now when it happens I just keep walking and I have Never, I repeat NEVER have had a store employee chase me down to examine the items in my cart. I have had a few people in that entry way give me strange looks after setting one off but I don't really care. I just keep going to my car and left. Just an FYI post. |
