First off, what you're asking about isn't "Debt Recovery" it's a subset of "Asset Protection". "Debt Recovery" deals with getting out of debts you've accumulated.

Secondly, if you can supposedly 'prove' that he ows you the money based on an agreement between the two of you - then you should be able to find a few dozen lawyers lining up for the case. Anywhere where there's a pile of money to be made, lawyers circle like vultures.

Third, you've insisted that the money is from legitimate business dealings - again, if this is in fact the case, there should be dozens of lawyers lining up to take the case.

He's not your friend kimble. He stole money from you - that definatively makes him "not your friend".

As for the idea of threatening him or doing some other illegal thing to get the money back - too late. You've already gone to the police and legal system with it; if he is suddenly 80,000 pounds lighter and you're suddenly 80,000 pounds richer - you're the obvious culprit.

Get a lawyer or let it go, those are your only options.
