At best you wouldn't get even half an Oz. Considering you're a total beginner, you'll be lucky to get anything at all. There's something to be said for having hands on experience with this as opposed to reading some How To academic stuff online.

Anyway, ephedra sinica is only about $15/kilo & extract is $30/kilo, up to 20Kg at a time via EMS shipping @ about $200 for shipping on 20Kg.
Each kilo of herb yields about 8 grams of L-ephedrine IIRC.
