I had hopes this would be a intelligent discussion forum, I was badly mistaken. I'm off to go find a better forum. I suggest to all of those that are fed up with the misleading info to go find a better forum and leave the newbs to wallow in shit.

I also didn't understand why you guys don't advocate bomb discussion and the anarchist cookbook on the forum, although you allow it on the frontpage.

This forum is trying to be serious, but the frontpage looks set to attract retards looking for easy bang to clog up the forum.
Theres a reason why I don't act like this on roguesci, because questions asked get answered properly, bullshit like suicide threads and other crap get deleted and the forum isn't run by a main retard itching to hand out infractions.

Sarcasm aside, whatever's on the front page has nothing to do with the moderators. In fact, I think the section you quoted is from the ACB which Xpl0siv seems to want to archive. For informational purposes, I imagine. Whatever the reason, our policy on malicious use of explosives is fairly clear and I don't think anyone is going to disagree with it. As for the ACB itself, it's discussion isn't forbidden. We just make it clear that the information contained in it is fairly sketchy.

It's a bit more complicated. Assuming you're referring to the treeware tome The Anarchist Cookbook by William Powell, then the worth of the particular copy depends, in part, on which edition it is. The Cookbook was first published in 1971 by the publisher Lyle Stuart, and there are currently a number of sellers offering the Lyle Stuart edition starting from $50 for the first edition, 23rd printing, to $100 for the first edition, first printing.

In about 1989, the rights were sold by Lyle Stuart to another publisher, Barricade Books, which published the Cookbook apparently until sometime in the early '00s, with used copies still being available for sale at prices that are about equal to that of the most recent edition (some obscure publishing outfit called 'Ozark Press' is currently putting out the edition of the Cookbook that's still in print today).

In other words, the Lyle Stuart printing is the oldest, followed by the Barricade Books printing, and finally the Ozark Press one. What this means is basically that if you have the Ozark Press edition it's worth fuck all, while the Lyle Stuart/Barricade Press editions may be worth slightly more than retail, their value isn't exactly noteworthy.

Not quite. To give two prominent examples to the contrary--and keeping in mind that the ACB was first published in 1971--the booklet The Science of Revolutionary Warfare: A Little Handbook of Instruction in the Use and Preparation of Nitroglycerine, Dynamite, Gun-Cotton, Fulminating Mercury, Bombs, Fuses, Poisons, Etc, Etc., written by Johann Most, was published in 1885. The book Danger! A true History of a Great City's Wiles and Temptations-The Veil Lifted, and Light Thrown on Crime and its Causes, and Criminals and their Haunts-Facts and Disclosures, written by Howe and Hummel, was published in 1886, and was essentially a loose manual for con artists and other criminal elements.

To go back a little further, Stepniak writes in the book Underground Russia (itself published in 1883), that "As far back as the year 1860" there were already underground fringe publishers distributing revolutionary reading material.

The point is that the ACB is but part of a long tapestry of fringe publications, and so has a generally undeserved reputation as some sort fringe 'first'.
