MDMA/XTC followed by MAOI's.

I've been wondering recently; If the comedown of MDMA has it's negative come down effects due to a drop in seratonin, can the effects be countered?

I've been thinking about testing an MAOI such as a harmaline extract from passionflower after using MDMA to see if inhibiting the metabolism of seratoning will actually decrease or negate the withdrawel?

Does anybody know anything or could this work?

You may wish to look into SSRIs - selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Those who have been treated for depression may know what they are.

SSRIs are a common type of anti-depressant; or they are a type of common anti-depressants. It really doesn't matter right now.

Zoloft is one such anti-depressant. You will probably need a prescription to get your hands on it, though.

I haven't slept in almost 3 days, so I'm going to let you look into it yourself so I don't have to do any describing or explaining. Sorry.

Haha, thankyou, that's a good idea... I'll leave this question to the general community then... Does Zoloft take the week's to start effecting your seratonin levels or does it effect your seratonin levels quickly? I've noticed that the effects seem to take a while to take place when it's being used as an anti depressant.

I got put on Zoloft for a bit, but my body seemed to adapt to the dosages within about 3 days (though I stayed on each dosage level for a month or so), so it became ineffective, even after continually increasing dosages. But that's just me. Everyone responds differently to it.

I've been looking into ayhuasca as i may be able to get it soon. Now from what i've found out it uses a MAOI to stop the DMT from being broken down. Anyway
i've read that some foods can become poisonous.

The relevence of all this is MDMA is on their list of dangerous substances when taken with an MAOI.

yea thats right the amazonians use a plant, i forget the exact name, that has harmaline and harmine in it. they act as MAOI's and stop the DMT from being broken down. pretty cool that they know how do do that shit.

Mmmhh, I don't what the point of this thread is really. But never forget for a SSRI to work it will take at leasts 2 weeks of daily uptake so it seems quite useless to use against a MDMA comedown. MAOI are very dangerous to take with other drugs they can form great distortions in your neurotransmitter balance. I would advise not to fuck around with such things unless you can get the opinion of a professional pharmacist. Besides wouldn't you rather take some benzo's and get a good nights rest. This seems the safest and most rehablatating thing to do. However if you find out more about countering MDMA withdrawal symptoms with anti-depressants keep us posted.

Peganum harmala is also called 'Syrian rue'. Peganum harmala contains harmala alkaloids such as harmine, harmaline and tetaphydroharmine. Peganum harmala acts as an MAO-Inhibitor. This means that it stops certain chemicals from being broken down by the human brain, such as psilocybin in magic mushrooms and DMT in plants like mimosa hostilis and psychotria viridis. Thus peganum harmala intensifies the effect of mushrooms and makes DMT effective. The combination of an MAO-Inhibitor and a DMT-containing plant is commonly known as Ayahuasca. Eat 3 to 5 grams of peganum harmala seeds on an empty stomach 15 minutes before taking magic mushrooms or a DMT-containg plant like Mimosa hostilis, Psychotria viridis or Phalaris arundinacea. Instead of eating the seeds you can mix 3 to 5 grams of peganum harmala with some hot water and let it boil 15 minutes on a very low fire. Sift it and drink the extract on an empty stomach. Peganum harmala is a MAO-inhibitor. When you combine the seeds with particular psychoactive products or food, it can cause headache, sickness, or worse. It can even be deadly!
