Rep Power: 0 | | lettuce opium I have made a batch of lettuce opium, (and plan on making more) and i cannot sell it unless i know its good stuff. But im a bit afraid of testing it because i dont know if its addictive. (dont wanna get addicted) Does anyone here have experience of using concentrated lettuce opium? Its a sticky goo now, but it will dry and become rock hard and suitable for smoking. I will tell you how i made it if anyone is interested. I went outside an picked lactuca virosa leaves, a whole plastic bag full. Then when i went home i pressed all the leaves into a container. I poured boiling water on the leaves and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then i filtered the solution. The water was brown now. Then i put on a frying pan on the stove and poured the brown water in the pan little by little until i had a black paste. Then i poured the paste into a glass and let it dry. if you want to make LOTS of it you will need more leaves and a big boiling pot for the solution. Frying pans can be used only if you make a little of it. Hope someone can help.

Rep Power: 4 | | You probably won't get addicted if you try it once, as long as you have enough will. But if you've never tried it before how will you know its good stuff? |

Rep Power: 0 | | I just remember trying morphine once and got addicted by one time usage only. I firmly decided not to do any more morphine and made it through the abstinence. I swore i would be more careful in the future. I have read stories about lettuce opium usage. And it seems it has some nice effects. Im just not sure if its addictive physically. So i want to hear from someone who has used it more than once. |

Rep Power: 0 | | According to wikipedia, it doesn't actually contain opium, but it's effects are similiar due to the other chemicals it contains.
I just read the experiences on erowid, and I have to say, I'm skeptical. They pretty-much all say that it sucks.

Rep Power: 0 | | So, you can basically extract the chemicals in it with hot water? What IS in it btw? I'll look at it in more detail tomorrow, but if you can make an extract, I might give it a go - I have a lot of it ( Wild Opium Lettuce on my site). Entheogenic wholesalers are the best!

Rep Power: 0 | | What are your experiences with is Sync?
I ead the experiences with it a bit more and the general consensus seems to be that it smells bad and doesn't get you high when you smoke the leaf - but rocks once you extract it.

Rep Power: 0 | | Very little experience actually. But, I have been playing around with some kratom lately. Turns out smoking it does very little but once you make some kind of tea with a reasonable quantity, it's actually far more enjoyable than codeine. Same full body euphoria but non of the "crushing, overbearing" side effects like shortness of breath or nausia.
So this seems like some plant I should perhaps try and extract...

Rep Power: 0 | | Didn't bother to read through the whole thread, but through personal experience I've found it's not as addictive to fry up and eat opium poppies than what it is to smoke em. |

Rep Power: 0 | | so how much water did u have to compaired to the lettuce? would it make it weaker/stronger depending on how much? and the brown water slowly turns into a paste by pouring lil bit of at time on the stove?

Rep Power: 4 | | im new to this "lettuce opium" thing but ive read about a few ways to extract it.
ive heard that the best way is to milk the stem of the lactuca virosa plant by cutting a gash (or cutting of the whole stem) just above the leafs on the lower part of the plant, yielding a white sap suitable for smoking once dried.
ive also heard that you can grind up the leaves of the lactuca virosa in a blender on the setting "puree" with about half the blender full of water and the rest of leaves... make the ratio of leaves to water about 1:1... meaning put in about as many leaves as water (this is hard to explain, but try to follow). then strain the resulting watery solution onto a frying pan or pot and evaporate off the water, leaving the black tar youve heard about.
another way is to soak the leaves in warm water (dont ask how to keep the water warm for this long... i have no clue i just read about it) for 8 or so hours and then press the leaves until youve gotten a black/brown water from the leaves. then pour onto a pan or pot and evaporate.
what i did (and i have not tried my product yet) was put the leaves into the blender and ran them on puree (water in the blender also) until the leaves were really well cut up and then i poured the solution straight into a pot and let the water evaporate. i then put a little lemon juice onto the dried, cut up leaves for flavor (that was an experiment) and then gathered the dry, cut up leaves into a baggy. it much resembled pot and id imagine you could smoke it (ive never smoked pot and dont intend to so i dont know how similar it would be).
*ive heard you can add catnip when you smoke it to add more flavor and "zing" to your product, but ive yet to try this. i hope all of this info helped cuz theres hardly any site that tells you how to prepare lettuce opium.
