Private Numbers?

Hey guys, i was just wondering if there were any phreaks out there who could enlighten me as to how i can trace/find/report a private number.

I realize thats it's probably a nooby question but after dealing with the crank calls and solicitors myself, some pervert called my gf this morning and moaned into the phone.

Personally I'd rather not report it to the cops both because I hate the whole police institution and because i doubt they'd even do anything.(and i wanna skin this guys dick.)

Get caller ID, assuming you haven't done it?

He said the numbers private, so he probably has caller ID.
I know there are reverse phone traces, but you need the number.
Also, you can have private numbers blocked.
I think there's not much more to do.
Unless, you do get the police involved.
They will check your phone records and find out who it is.
But, it probably has to repeated harrassment.

Ask your girl friend if she gave out her phone number or something. Or check if she is listed in the phone book. Do a little research on how that person could have got her phone number. Who knows? Maybe you'll find something.

Most phone companies now have a feature that you can use that you just type in *60 I think and it wont let anybody call with a blocked number. Double check with your phone compaly though for the exact number that you call though

Are you talking about the Zodiac Killer? Because he used pay phones not blocked numbers since a blocked number is just about meaningless to a cop.

Oh yeah and the Zodiac Killer was in the 60s so they didn't have blocked numbers or caller ID back then.
