So Ive been looking at some phreaking articles from time to time for like the past two years and I frequent phonelosers, but still I want to learn some things that I cant seem to find on the internet.

-Pbx hacking:the only stuff Ive seen on this is old stuff on totse

-Beige boxing:Ok I know how to easily work one of these with a regular TNI, but I want to try using this box on something else.I read some 80s articles about what people did with theirs and I really want to mess with a large buildings TNI (which I hear is on the roof?), if I provide pics then can you help me locate it?I also want to know If you could get on someones line by messing with the phone jack.On phonelosers there was something about them taking it off the wall in a hotel and using the beige box to be on someone elses line(I would ask them, but if you ever go to the forums then you know they act immature and hate answering questions).What other things could I connect the beige box to?Hmm the telephone pole wires, underground manholes and COCOTS, ect; got any ideas how and where to connect the beige box to those things?

-What other boxes still work in this digital age?

So right now I got a beige box, a busybox and a lot of tools in my "phreakbag"

Im going to make a cordless beigebox soon and eventually try to setup asterisk on my linux partition, that way I can make free spoofed calls

If you got a helpful link or two then it would be appreciated.....most of the stuff online is old and copy&pasted though........but I just figured that there might be a experienced phreak or two here that could give me some pointers

isnt phreaking dead? whats the point what with phone companies practically ginving away regular phone, they make most money offa high speed internet now dont they? ive never phreaked, but i know the idea, and it seems a frugal thing to be doing nowadays....buy a tracfone or some thing, dont waste time learing all that only to have it be useless in a few years when everything does become digital.

Squat, you make a very nice point, but cable phones are not dead.
Since they are becoming "forgotten" maybe it's even better to do it now.

Yeah it is easy to beige box a TNI but I have found little information on beigeboxing stuff on telephone poles, stuff in manholes, cans, those 66 block terminal thing, ect ect

BTW phreaking isn't dead. Im not a pro but I have still learned a lot and it continues to be fun.The other guy who mentioned it dropping in popularity is right too because It seems like more and more phreaking sites are dying. I guess Ill stick around and continue to post about other stuff on this site then. Um Totse doesnt accept new members right?(they are gay anyway), but as for roguesci it wouldnt allow me to register because it kept saying it wouldnt take members with my email address???I was like wtf and I tried hotmail, gmail & yahoo addresses, but still no luck.I was kind of upset because I got some good reading material from them off off TPB, so whats with them?

Phreaking is alive and well... however it's not the same as it was before the mid 90's because everything is digital.... You would be amazed at what people can do with cell phones and what not.

Not amazingly clear on this, but i beleive the beige box is basically a portable phone carried around that can be linked into a phone connection and use other peoples lines/Prank them/Listen in etc

Kind of like what the telephone repair guys have

try Hack Canada - It don't mean jack if it ain't got that hack. they have all sorts of programs for different boxes (red,blue,ect).

Listen to pain and stick with beige as he said its easy and still works, also if these categories are in totse then you do not need us or to start one with us its much easier for you to keep one of their categories running with your question. Just some simple advice.
