Default [How To] Free Music from Windows Media Player.

ok.. here goes my first kinda tutorial, hope its easy to understand

open windows media player and go onto windows guide

then search for whatever you want.. if it comes up with a result that you want, click it to play in windows media player

in "now playing" right click the song, click properties,

and select the url to the .mp3 file, it may also be other media extentions, copy it,

press start > run and type: notepad.exe
in notepad type: "Right Click Me then select Save As"
Replace the "***" with the link to the song file you got
save the file with any name but make sure the extention is ".html"
open the file with Internet Explorer, or any other browser you prefer, right click it, and save target as...

Enjoy Free Music!

Dont be shy! Post some comments

This works. Good tutorial, too - clear, concise, easy to understand. Looks like Gobiggi is going to be a valuable member. Welcome to BS, Gobiggi.

Yes, welcome.

I must admit, I love the use of screenshots in your tutorial. Definitly a nice touch.

Only problem though, I'd rather my music be >= 128kbs^-1 - Your method produces only very low quality music.

I guess that's fine if you have shite speakers.

There should be something like "Guide" or "Media Guide" or similar within your Windows Media Player (it varies with the version you are using). Start there.

It does that for quite a few songs, but eventually you will find the song you want that won't open another window. Most of the time I use Limewire though.
