Default Should I hack the road sign near me?

There is a road sign like this one near me:

There are 2 very small locks protecting the cover. Should I break in and hack it like it says here?: I-Hacked.com Taking Advantage Of Technology - Inside Programmable Road Signs

So this was my night:

It started off with me walking an hour through the dark using my cell phone as a light (I have no idea why I didn't bring a flashlight, stfu...). Then I got to this sign that is right by a main road, got out my hedge cutters (I don't have any bolt cutters), and attempted to cut the lock. Well apparently hedge cutters are shitty metal cutters, go figure, so I was about to give up. But after inspecting the lock I noticed that the piece of metal it was attached to was as thick as tin foil, so I just snapped that off.

It took me a while to figure out how to open it, you had to twist this thing and then flip it, but whatever. So I opened this thing, expecting to see something similar to this:

That is what I wanted, a pad that I knew the default password to and how to reset it. But what I got was this:

It wasn't all bad, a keyboard and some batteries, it was expected. But then I took a look at the keyboard and little screen there:

F U C K... Username and password my nut sack. Of course I tried a couple, but having to close it every time a car passes doesn't leave too much time to mess with it. By the way it says K&K Systems on the screen above username and password. It says K&K Systems all over the sign as well.

I snapped ten pictures (including the two above), just for people to see, the internet seems to be lacking some good inside shots of these signs anyway. Some are blurry though:

All and all, this night was a failure. I didn't get to change the sign to something funny or witty, I just moved a dial to one of the presets (caution work ahead). You can see the dial above and to the right of the keyboard.

Edit:

So after some 30 second research at http://www.k-ksystems.com/ (K&K Systems' website), I found that this was (Model #KKMB7044). Specs: KKMB7044 Specs More Specs

As much as it makes me a killjoy, check the sign before doing anything to it. It could be pointing out something dangerous on the road ahead...other than zombies...

Sure, it's funny, but that's not a good enough reason to get someone killed...

Those signs are there for people who don't pay attention. After passing up these signs I see what is going on with my own eyes.

Not to argue with you Random, but I just don't think it's funny.
It's a low-brow prank, and a pointless one at that.

Buy a woopie cushion and leave the roadsigns alone.

You always have to be careful. My dad has a story about him being in Saskatchewan, driving through a snowstorm. A deep irrigation river froze and the bridge above it fell. His car didn't have winter tires so he was going slower than he normally would be going. This enabled him to see the bridge being out. So he parked his car along the right lane and waved at the next car for it to stop. The driver of the car waved back and drove off the bridge.

The moral of the story, don't rely on people having the ability to see the danger and don't take away road signs unless they are not to warn for things like speed and danger.
