Question Apple Store iPhone SIM Cards

If one takes a SIM from an iphone inside an apple store does anyone think apple would notice? The phones in the store are activated with the ability to make/receive calls, text, and browse the internet. The only problem is that you can't download any apps without the apple account password. What are your thoughts?

edit: I just realized. Should this be in "Money, Fake ID and Free Living"? I'm not sure if I should delete and repost it there or if an admin will move it or something. Sorry.

It's fine here.

they would.. the ability to receive calls, text, and browse the internet would be gone, and it would say "Emergency calls only"

Not to mention that the sim would be disabled within the hour.

Why not steal the phone if you have time to get the SIM out?

All the display items at the Apple store have the inventory control sensors on them that set off an alarm when take off/broken.

Also to the OP in regards to the sims card. There isn't much chance that Apple just would not notice that their display phone is missing a sims card. Even if they didn't notice it for a couple days, what good is it? It will never be a permanent solution.

Default but

what if you replaced it with another SIM just so it doesn't display the "No SIM" message. I think most people wouldn't notice it doesn't make calls. just a thought anyways...

Unless jailbroken (and I don't have that much faith in the 'genius' bars technical ability), or you have an iPhone sim it will say

"Incorrect SIM. This iPhone must be used with an approved SIM"

Well really the sim card only has to be an AT&T sim card. There is no special sim card just for the iPhone. If you get one from a prepaid AT&T phone it will work. I guess it would work until a Apple employee just randomly uses that phone to do a demo for a customer with, or a customer complains that it doesn't make calls.

once i bought an xm radio from some store, i think it was walwart or maybe the k equivalent but in any case, they only had one left ( i think it was kmart, cause they had to unlock the case) but the box was all bent in and such so i said that i didnt want it. the kid that was selling me the unit asked if i wanted the display, because it would be a while before they go them back in stock, i said sure, because it was in great shape (unusual for a display, i know) anyway i got it home, and set it up in my car and it was playing stations without me setting up an account, seems that kmart didn't bother turning it off so i still have free xm with that unit. changed it from car to car, and still getting it. now ive never bought anything at the apple store, so i dont know if they do checks or not, but you could prolly make a few calls. more than likely though, as soon as the sim card makes a call outside of a designated area, it gets "wiped" and will not work.
