I Need M-80 Safety Tips

Hey everyone, I'm 16 and new to the forum.
I'm going to make M-80's for this 4th of July.
It'll be my first time making them.
I've had experience using them.
I ordered the things I need, I have specific directions on how to make them, and I have the time.
Only thing is..........
I need to know every safety precaution I need to take before I get started.
I already know two things I should do.
1. Stay out of the sun.
2. Spray (Anti-Static Spray) around the area and on the bag I use to mix up the two compounds.

But what else do I need to know?
It would mean a lot if you could give some advice, Thanks.

Don't bring idiot friends. Don't smoke (dumb but people do it). make sure the fuse won't spark the explosive when lit. Know your fuse well (mainly speed).

ok im guessing youre making them out of cardboard cylinders and clay for caps at each end.

place the fuse (glued and ready) in the cylinder before any explosive. and leave some room for the explosion to breathe. :]

keep a fire extinguisher near, and a fire blanked

if u can get fire resistant clothes...that would help

wear fire-proof gloves.

and if your using a lot of powder.
buy a plastic shock mask..something like that.

That's not entirely neccessary when dealing with fireworks, just handle them in a safe manner, but you can go to that level if you really want to.

Always make small batches when mixing powders. Place the powder on a sheet of paper. Hold the edges of the sheet and roll the powders together. Always wear eye protection.
