Bomb Book Sources

A lot of explosives related material is available here on the internet, but some of us still prefer good old paper books. And they are getting harder and harder to find, and when you can find them they are expensive at hell.

In 1999 Paladin Press withdrew ALL of their books dealing with homemade bombs, improvised weapons, and how-to books on murder. My favorite was KILL WITHOUT JOY by John Minnery (which contained all 6 volumes of the infamous HOW TO KILL series--basically THE handbook for professional killers).
So don't bother with Paladin, they've been neutered (got sued and lost their asses). Also, don't bother with Loompanics Unlimited--they're retail business is closed.

One of the last companies that's still in buiness is Delta Press www.deltapress.com and they still have a line of bomb books and related topics.

If you don't have copies of POOR MAN'S JAMES BOND, volumes 1 and 2 they can both be found at Delta Press. These are classic books on making homemade bombs and improvised weapons. Before the internet these were the go-to books for radicals and extremeists.

They also carry the IMPROVISED MUNITIONS HANDBOOKS, volumes 1, 2, and 3. Many people don't even know volume 3 exists. For years these were the most secretive, highly sought after books in print. The internet changed all that.

If you're looking for rare out-of-print bomb books (such as those once published by Paladin Press) I recommend the following website www.bookfinder.com You will need to know the exact title(s) you're looking for. I'm also including a few titles that are used to train police bomb technicians. They contain a lot of "how-to" information on bomb construction principles (example: electroniclly wiring shotgun shells in mail bombs instead of explosives--ingenious and easily available materials). They're classics from the 60s and 70s but contain much information I've never found on the internet.

Reference to "bombs" is frowned upon on these forums.
Bombs are made to hurt people, and for this reason the term "explosive" comes into play.

The disapproval of bombs IS NOT why the term "explosives" comes into play. Explosives is the only discussion permitted in this forum, period. If you, the reader, are here to learn about or discuss devices intended to hurt or kill people, or to cause destruction to property that isn't your own, leave now. I should also mention that the POOR MAN'S JAMES BOND Volume 1 contains a full reprint of the book ARSON BY ELECTRONICS which instructs the electroniclly minded would-be arsonist how to start fires via many ingenious eletronic methods.

Also, the POOR MAN'S JAMES BOND Volume 2 contains a complete reprint of the IMPROVISED MUNITIONS HANDBOOK.

Anyone interested in arson absolutely must obtain a copy of the BLACK BOOK OF ARSON by Lyle Whitney. This book contains dozens of ways to start time-delay fires and insights only a professional arsonist could provide. Excellent book!

I deliberately left out the ANARCHIST'S COOKBOOK by William Powell. All the bombs are wired wrong, the author couldn't even make a complete electrical circuit.

The fact that this book is around 40 years old and that the mistake has never been corrected has led me to believe that William Powell is a pseudonym and that the real authors were some three-lettered agency in the government.

Back when the ANARCHIST'S COOKBOOK was written hippie bomb-throwers were a terrible menace and many people thought it s the end of the world. Charles Manson was the icing on the cake.

It only stands to reason that the age old tactic of disinformation reared its head and out popped this book. If you have a copy I can think of no better use for it than throwing it in the fireplace this winter to keep yourself warm while reading one of the books from the original post.
