I infracted him for a stupid post and he got all upset and abusive. Send me all the PMs you want but Random banned him for posting shit on the forums (and not even in the "Mods Suck" thread - idiot). It's only a week, but that's only because Random is more compassionate than me.

Glad to see that little fuss has blown over. And I've come to a decision. In a demonstration of my infinite mercy, and as a gesture to the populace (in lieu of releasing Bawabbus), I've decided to lift the ban on Beyond. While I stand by all my reasons for placing the ban in the first place, in the meantime Beyond has convinced my of his value and shown a genuine desire to improve the quality of Bombshock that coincided to my own. The one stipulation was that he no longer drag down threads with irrelevant arguments. I'm stating this publicly so that should the situation arise I can't be accused to being trigger-happy with The Button. That said, I'm sure he'll do just fine.

And that reminds me. This little saga has convinced me of the value of MSN IM. While BB forums are more appropriate for sharing and discussing information, they've proved themselves awkward and slow in resolving transient situations like this. As such, should a similar problem arise in the future, people might be better off contacting me on (my username)6@hotmail.com. Just keep it relevant - I'm not one for idle chit-chat.

If you had actually read the thread properly instead of being blinded by indignation that someone diagreed with you then you would have seen that, of everyone, Little Willy was least deserving of a ban (in that thread anyway. He did get infracted. Pretty much everyone there did. The difference was that it was you're 11th.

I banned Vallen's "I hate you" account and upped the ban on "Vallen" to two weeks for creating a duplicate account.

If we allow kids to build up pretend stories about themselves, especially concerning their own knowledge and skills in sensitive areas covered by the forums (gunsmithing, and ww3's "50 homemade guns") then we're not a message board but some sort of textual RPG.

For the record, I'd rather keep this thread free of discussion. If you want to question anything then start another thread in Forum Disucssion or Bitching and Moaning, depending on the tone.

Personally I think Headcase and the other mods do a fantastic job at keeping these boards clean for us.

I forgot I started this thread for any kind of announcement, not just bans.

Anyway, re the incrase in spam; there was a drop-off when we updated to the new vBulletin but there are weaknesses in every system and it was only a matter of time before this became exploited too. I'll have a word about introducing other anti-spam measures.

In future, bitching and moaning outside the bitching and moaning forum will end in a two month ban. I'll also remind you that duplicate accounts mean the ban on the original account is refreshed plus two months.

Wow, nice spam in the announcements thread. I am not much of a computer wizard, but how exactly do this spam get here. Do people actually create these accounts or do companies do it to advertise?
