More Whinging

Mod Edit; I split this from the "Report Posts" thread because it wasn't really relevant. I wanted to delete it but I figured that might be construed as censorship, so here it is. I am locking it, however, as there's plenty of other places to have a whine about moderators. - headcase

Id like to have a basic guideline as to what constitutes "over the top" abusive posting behavior, is constant pointless
cussing and insults when respondig to posts considered acceptable behavior on this forum? Or is a certain amount of decorum expected from members.
Spelling and grammar is all well and good but when posts are filled with sensless,gratuitous swearing and pointless insults also seem to bring the level of what passes for intelligent dicussion to a low far worse than a few misspelled words which are normally found in everyones posts now and then. But the majority refrain from the constant swearing and insulting posts that spew from this particular members keyboard.
So you dont get the Idea this is a personal vendetta this is his universal attitude towards members other than moderators who thus far ignore the stuation
while slapping me on the wrist for spelling/grammatical errors and even innapropriate language if I recall!Even while this tirade was right next to my post I was censored but absolutely no mention of the adolescent language probems which for the record were properly spelled.Bitch, stupid asshole etc. etc.Certainly what your striving for here are posts like that to boost the rep./adult nature of this site.Unfortunately i have begun to repond in kind as it seems to go on w/o any interference from your moderators who should have the integrity and reputation of the site at heart and not personal considerations as it appears to anyone looking on.Ridding yourself of that kind of baggage would do wonders for this forums reputation and membership.I fully expect some form of reprecussions either outright banning or enough minor spelling/grammatical errors to rid the site of a malcontent who takes offense at being called liar and many other adolescent attacks far to numerous to mention.Thanks for your attention? grndpndr

After reflecting on the subject and realizing the basic nature of this forum with the lack of some members/moderators restraint whatsoever i suppose due to age ive come to the conclusion This childrens forum while there are some intresting kids here is just to "young" for a man my age to be seemly to be a member of I RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT I BE REMOVED FROM THE MEMBERSHIP ROLES as im so "stupid" Ill spend more time with sciencemadness , rogue science,warrifles,Defense Forums.

I have encountered many people in this world who expect the world's problems to be fixed for them, without them even lifting a finger. Do you fit in to this group?

As the very point of this thread suggests: if you have a problem with a post, report it. Don't expect that every post will be thoroughly checked, word for word, for compliance with every rule. If members wish to expect that, then, in my opinion, members can start paying a recurring fee for being a part of this community.

The moderators of Bombshock are volunteers who forfeit time from their own schedules to monitor, moderate and educate the Bombshock community. They receive no recompense whatsoever, and often what they receive in return is people bitching and crying that decisions haven't gone their way.

If, as a member, you aren't happy with something, do someting about it - voice your concerns publicly in the Forums Discussion forum, or to a moderator. Alternatively, if you have a problem with something and you won't bring it to anyone's attention in an appropriate manner, fuck off, because we don't want you here if that's the case.

No, you have never bitched or "cryed" about a silly slap on the wrist - but then, you're behind a keyboard too. I, and other moderators, have performed their tasks as required by the administrators, as desired by myself, and as expected by other moderators and the community. Actions are not made from behind keyboards due to fear of retribution - actions are made behind keyboards because that is our job - to moderate, and keep in line, everyone else behind keyboards.

For everyone else:

If you have a problem with a moderator, do one of the following:

1. Voice your concerns, in a mature and reasonable manner, with the moderator you have a problem with; or
2. Contact a supermoderator about the particular moderator in question - even if the moderator in question is another supermoderator; or
3. Contact an administrator about the particular moderator in question; or
4. If you see a post by a moderator that you have a problem with, report it; or
5. Fuck off, and don't come back.

These are simple instructions, and every person has available to them a variety of options to complain about moderators. My opinion, and my perception of the Bombshock community's general opinion, is that the Bombshock moderators are welcomed and appreciated.

All members should know, within a couple of weeks of joining, what moderators do. The Bombshock community should see these forums as a place of discussion. Often, the moderators see the forums as some sort of kindergarten or intellectual babysitting. Many members make excellent posts - their posts are accurate (especially with things like chemicals, but general spelling is important too), informed, clearly researched (with specific references), and interesting.

That said, some other posts are utter shit.

Yes, I am drunk as I post this - but the message remains the same:

1. If you like being a part of the Bombshock community...
   1. ...and you make great posts, stay.
   2. ...and you want to post better, make your post but ask how you can improve. You won't learn if you don't ask what the problem is.

its a great concept really, improving discussion....through handing out bans to those willing to do what the moderators are not...
