Maybe this is just a dumb idea but some sort of a database would nice. Sort of like wikipedia, with different subjects as an alternative to threads. That way if someone wants to research something on the site, with out having to read through any excess of information that would be in a thread. Kind of straight-to-the-information.

I considered doing that too dynamite. It's kind of difficult to point someone towards the acetone peroxide thread with it's 300 replies. I'd like, some day, to go through the entire thread and extract the valuable information but I doubt I'll ever have the time or patience. Besides, the same thing could be said about a lot of threads in the forums. I'll have to think it over.

Yeah X as I stated in another post in this catagory it would be nice to have a Tutorial Sub-Forum in each of the Drug, Explosives etc.. catagories. Where members could just post their findings(no reply's to any of the topics). Would basically stop the reoccurance of old posts and such. Also making it being able to only be viewed by members would enhance member registration. If any member had a question to one of those tutorials they can simply post that question in the parent forum. To be included in the Tutorials the member posting would be required to include commonly asked questions.

Also, I would like to add to what Macaveli said, that if someone makes a tutorial and its good they should get a +1 rep automatically for it.

I've a couple ideas....

New Rule One: If a post was deleted; no references to it.

( Lots of Forum time is wasted referring to nonexistent posts. The whole reason one is deleted is a sign of agreement or just not wanting to stir up trouble.)

Two: All infractions should be publicly displayed by the member's name. "Why" should be easily accessed. (To allow members to police the punishment and see it is doled out fairly.)

A suggestion: Put the Rules in a Separate category or very top of the forum list. (They are hard to find.)

Also, I see nothing on "double posting" in the rules. Where Is this, if it exists?

I disagree. If you claim something blatently wrong then you should be held accountable for it, even after you admit your mistake. If it's a genuine error of judgement then who cares? We've all done that. If it was a straight out lie then people deserve to the member is prone to lies.

Seems like a lot of effort. If a member wants to challenge an infraction they're free to bring it up publicly or privately with and of th mods. Given that 99% of infractions are cut and dry it seems unnecessary.

I'll see if I can now.

It's not there. The rules don't claim to be complete. Normally a member just needs to be informed on our procedure (and forum etiquette in general) and it stops being an issue. If they don't catch on straight away then it might lead to an infraction. It's only dragged on longer than that once and that lead to two bans and nine infractions, but there's always one...

Still, I guess I'll add it now.

Edit; more like nineinfractions. I crack myself up...
