I am one of thse people who you hardly ever see without one or both earfones in. Music is a huge part of what i do in my spare time, i listen, collect, i play drums. I was wondering what all y'alls listen to. i listen to some of everything but mostly punk and ska my favorite bands are Mustard Plug, Goldfinger, Rx Bandits, and a lot of new england and DC punk/ska cuz thats what i grew up with. so what do you guys listen to?

In a word, dance. But that's matured from trance to house to progressive and now it's at minimalist techno and dubstep, but it still depends on how I feel at any given time. Outside of dance, everything has it's place.

you ever use purevolume.com its got a ton of metal/industrial free. its also got prety much anyhting else relatively new (past 10-15 years) in most genres. and i hear you on the headphones thing man. i hate spending money on em when i know im just gunna blow out the base. ive started sticking to those cheap earbuds, they get the job done.

I fucking love bad religion i saw them live in 11th grade. i totally agree w./ you those guys are prety much the last true sole punks. punk has really merged with other genres. punk/pop (greenday, newer rancid, jimmy eat world etc.) punk/ska (Big D, Rx Bandits etc.), punk/screemo (my hero is me etc.). there is very little true punk anymore (at least mainstream i've found a bunch of local bands that can be classified as solely punk)

true that, music in genreal from scandinavia kicks serious ass. they have wicked good techno and pretty ill metal and alternative scene. not a ton of punk rock or just rock in general but overall they have a totally ill music scene. but if you want metal germany is where you should look. the germans are the kings of metal (probably because the german language and metal were made for eachother).

I find Finish to be more... ummm how can I put it? More kind of vocal/lyric oriantated, reulting in the need for a better voice, whilst maintaining the skillfull playing of the instraments. But I know what ya mean about the Gremans, have got some heavy bands :P

Also your 100% about Finish music, I'm not really into trance/techno/rave.... but when I'm drunk I love it :P

My favourite band of all time really is KMFDM. They are fantastic. They incorporate a lot of different types of music and sound effects into their own music. Achieving a unique sound...

Pendulum and Metallica rank highly, as well as Rammstein, The Darkness. Linkin Park is pretty good.

When I was a total Metal Head I listened to a lot of Amon Amarth, a Viking Metal band...

No they aren't from the ninth century.

I like a mix of things.

Some reggae when chillin, some electronica, dance and my all time fave bassline.
Jamie Duggan, Banger Scott...shit like that.

A bit of UK grime as well, only like the underground shit and a little bit of Wiley n Skepta.

But I don't mind some reggae now and then.

funny, alot of people use very specific genres...
I was originally a bit of everything, but am now into mainly hard-rock, and a bit of metal thrown in although I wouldnt call myself hardcore. Most of my iPod is made up of only 1-5 songs from some artists. I guess some of my most-played would be:
- Linkin Park
- System of a Down
- RED (only just recently, but pretty good)
- Incubus
- Saliva.... get the gist.

Some samples methinks;

Moan, by Trentmoller. Ambient/Minimalist techno. My favourite song at the moment.

Nothing by James Holden. Trance. James Holden is probably my favourite DJ. I can't find the mixes of Come to Me and Solstice that I want though. Music to have sex to.

Coloured City by Laurent Garnier. Techno. Fell in love with this when I heard it live on Ecstasy myself.

Night, by Benga and Coki. Dubstep. What got me into the genre in the first place. Class video too. Pleasure is good too.

UK Garage mainly, Peckham rap like Rasclart Riddim and regular garage like Gipset.

If I want to chill then I listen to Reggae like Dennis Brown.
