The switch from gunshots to injections is a sign that China "promotes human rights now," says Kang Zhongwen

Rep Power: 16 | | It must be the chinese answer to mcdonald's. Still, It's probably better than the firing squad, and why let those organs go to waste? Hell, if we harvest chinese we could all live longer. Human resources now has a whole new meaning in china.

Rep Power: 0 | | Wasn't there that whole "killing innocent people to illegally sell their organs" thing?

Rep Power: 23 | | I think all that happened was they executed criminals and took their organs without permission, not murdered innocents. |

Rep Power: 16 | | I don't have a problem with harvesting the organs, as long as the legal process that handed down the death sentence was fair. This way they really can give back to society.

Rep Power: 0 | | This dosen't suprise me, china likes ultimate control over each citizen of there country.
Organ harvesting goes on in america more than any other country. In literally 97% of hospitals across the nation there are black market organs being stored. It's also done by ambulance drivers, there's huge profit in it; especially adrenilin glands.

Rep Power: 0 | | greenflame- you do realise that the adrenal glands are on top of the kidneys. Not right near the surface. So ambulence officers would need to conduct major surgery, remove the glands intact, and get the body to a hospital to be pronounced dead by a doctor, probably pass an autopsy, and do that _without_arousing_suspicion?
Im not saying you're wrong, i just think its highly unlikely. |

Rep Power: 0 | | In my screwed up paragraph I didn't mean to accociate everything with the medics. But human adrenilin is high priority on the black market. I'd also like to mention that I remember very little of human anatomy.

You've seen fear and loathing too many times lol.

Rep Power: 0 | | Yea I know. I think the actuall high priority drug is meth, dumb rednecks are running meth labs all over the south. Most of them get blown up.
But the topic of this thread once again brings to question the accociation of communism and china. There Politics and Policy in no way matches the definition of communism.

Rep Power: 0 | | I think im with Random on this one. If we kill more convicts brutally odds are people will stop whatever their doing. Those people over at Amnest International are more communist than the Chinese government! I think the firing squads are cheaper anyways...

Rep Power: 16 | | I think the deterrent effect will depend on the nature of the crime. A death penalty for drug smuggling would presumably be an effective deterrent because people have plenty of time to think about what they are doing, and the consequences. Most murders however are impulsive and unplanned, the result of people losing control and ignoring consequences. I don't believe the death penalty deters these people because they simply aren't thinking.
