I quit over a year ago with pure willpower. I was smoking over a pack of Marlboro Reds a day before I quit. After two months you'll not have cravings, but you gotta find something to do with your time out of bordem, and anxiety.

If they where not so expensive I'd probably still smoke. I refuse to pay over $2 a pack though, and Marlboros are the only real quality cigarettes available in common stores.

$2 is a really good price for smokes. Around here it's about $4-6 for Reds. Anyway, try smoking cigars, less of the nicotine gets in you that way (at least from my understanding, I could deffinetly be wrong). and after awhile of smoking the cigars you should be weaned off the nicotine sufficiently.

I was actually tempted to snatch one of my roomates Doral Light 100's today, and light it up.

Cigarettes are great for releaving stress and anxiety. I just don't want to go back to blowing money on them.

I smoked cigarettes from the ages of 13 up to 22, so it shouldn't be hard for you guy's.

I started off 5 fingering them from local stores at 13, and eventually I had people buy them for me.

I also smoked quality pipe tobacco, and cigars in my teens. I usally whent with the cheap cherry vanilla tobacco, and those fruity smelling Punch brand cigars. If you keep the tobacco in your fridge it stays fresh longer.

Cigars might be a good choice, since you can buy the singles. So if you do give into temptation, you won't have 20 to finish off, just one. Unfortunately, If you're like me, you'll inhale the cigar smoke and get twice the nicotine-- Like 5 cigarettes at once, without a filter. Which doesnt help much for weening yourself off it.

Another negative towards smoking is it demolishes your senses. I still can't smell, and taste like I did way back.

Just hold on.
Theres no magic cure, just use plain willpower.

It sure as fuck isnt easy but its possible. Start doing fitness training or such like during the day, it takes your mind off the smokes and makes you concentrate on something else.

Never looked at sites like that before but heck, you may find stuff that could work for you.

Start chewing. You'll be able to cut down easier that way because you won't have to smoke to get the nicotine and you won't have to go cold turkey that way. Here in this part of the country everybody chews. If you're new at it, may I suggest pouches instead of loose-leaf?

Skoal wildberry blend, anyone?

Chewing tobacco is 10x as bad as smoking. You're most likely to get cancer, and have huge holes in your face too.

I did it for about a year in 6th grade, and got tired of it. I tried everything from Skoal to Apple Jack.

Chew chewing gum. Not nicotine gum, that tastes like ass, just chewing gum, when you feel the crave. Looking for an easy way out dooms you to failure. Decide to do it cold turkey, and if it all becomes to much, allow yourself one aid, like one stick of nicotine gum.

My mum has been clean of them for around 9 years now. She just used willpower. When ever she had a craving she would just chew a mint until she forgot about it.

Anyway good luck aye.

Try drinking water when you get a craving. And I'd just like to let everyone here know a little random fact: that if you get the hiccups, the only way I've found actually works is to press your eyebrows a little bit up. It works. Trust me, I've tried it, and it's worked every time so far. I saw that on "Untold Stories of the ER". If it can work better than thorisene on a girl who has had the hiccups for 8 straight days non-stop, it can work on you.

I used to be addicted but I was able to quit the almost pack a day of newports I smoked. I quit because I started to not be able to play basketball. I didn't quit cigs for good. I still smoke from time to time becuase I enjoy it, but not so much of newports, more quality cigs. I love cigs, I just hate how they fuck with my lungs ; /

Replace the addiction with something else.

I quit with will-power. But it wouldnt have been half as easy without exercise. Because whenever I felt a craving,
I used to blast myself with strenious physical activity. Like running, swimming. or cycling.
You get a simmilar endorphin rush, and feel far less frustraited.

Especialy if the running high-lights just how much damage you've done to your lungs. Remember, its good for you.

You're far more likely to quit if you feel like your constantly getting healthier without them.

I quit like 2 weeks ago.

I mean. Its hard to do, but anyone who can't quit is pathetic in my opinion.

Cutting down or chewing gum or whatever is bullshit. All it takes is willpower. There was an event in my life that made me decide that I didn't want to smoke another cigarette again, so I didn't - so far.

If you want to quit smoking, every breath of smoke you breathe in is proof that you are a failure to yourself.

Thats how I see it. If you don't want to quit, then thats fine! But if you do want to quit and can't, then you need to take a long look in the mirror.

I say use porn to replace the nicotine. Get a craving, pop in a vid.

But that's just me.
