Rep Power: 0 | | I REALLY want to learn how to hack Hi, I'm just wondering if there are any expert computer hackers out there who'd like to teach me a few things about hacking? ops: I know absolutely nothing about hacking or how it's done, except that once you know how it's surprisingly easy. That's what everybody says. But I know nothing about hacking  zero. zip. zilch. nada. Absolute diddlysquat. Can someone please help me?????????? |

Rep Power: 0 | | I told you, I don't know anything about hacking. What do you mean, "try google"? Do you mean learn how to hack on google? If so, then you'd better try some other advice, because I'll try it, but I've found google utterly useless with even the most simple searches. If you mean "try to hack INTO google", then you obviously haven't heard a word I've said. I'll assume you mean the former, and I'll try it. More advice, please? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Ok, here's how you go about it:
Step 1: Post your topics in an appropriate forum. General Discussion is not the place.
Step 2: Try searching Google for "hacking tutorial" or something along those lines. You will come up with a number of useful resources.
Step 3: While observing Step 1, ask any questions you have about things you don't understand.
If you're too lazy to follow the above, start at http://www.hackthissite.org - Hopefully you'll work out for yourself where to go from there.

Rep Power: 0 | | First of all, since when is "hacking" not covered by the word "general"? I don't see a place to discuss hacking anywhere else, so where else do you suggest I post it? Second of all, there's no need to be rude about it. When I asked for help, it wasn't because I was lazy, it was because I honestly know absolutely nothing that I would need to even get started, my computer's the slowest sloth in the world, and nothing works on it. |

If you're thinking "Format C:" it wouldn't work, because windows won't let you while windows is running.
rm -rf would work on the other hand, but I'd put money on this chap using XP.
Anyways, start with hackthissite, mod-x or any of the other games out there. Learn how to program.

Rep Power: 0 | | I love how some lamers who assume you know nothing of computers are all like "Deltree blah blah blah" then when you tell them deltree hasn't been a command since win98 they get embarrassed and try and explain their way out of it.
Just having moved to uni, I get a lot of people thinking they can hack, and also think they can tell me something about explosives. Funny thing is, all these people have going for them is this crazy "knowledge" they possess since they're all socially inept, which to everyday people might seem somewhat impressive, so when I pwn them in public, you can almost see their hearts implode.
Pseudo intellectuals piss me the fuck off.

Rep Power: 0 | | I know what you mean Synch. I don't know how to hack, and I don't claim it. I have a pretty good knowledge with PHP after instituting it on a few of my webpages and I remember a little C++ from the 2 years I took it in high school, but that is it.
I love going to the computer classes at my tech. school though. Guys trying to impress the chicks by "pretending" what they can do with computers.
The funniest memory I have is a guy bragging to a girl about how he could, "install a program on a computer and track what people type and their patterns" and that he was, "only one of a few people that knew how to do it". My BS detector went off and I immediately said, "Like a keystroke logger?". He gave me an oh shit look and went, "No, it's more complex than that." For a second I thought maybe he's not BSing until I asked how. "Well for one you can analyze patterns." I shot back, "Yeah depending on what keystroke logger you're using you can do that. Anything else that would make it more complex?". He came back with, "Dude you don't understand. I've been doing this for a long time and I would know." This really pissed me off cause he was implying I was a dumbass. I said, "Yeah me too and you're describing a keystroke logger." He said, "No, IM NOT!". Then I told him to bring it on his laptop or anything he could to show me it. Apparently it was too classified for me to see. | |

Rep Power: 0 | | Oh and too the original poster. Are you in high school or college? I'm dicking around my last quarter at college before I transfer over taking programming classes ( JAVA, Databases ). I know most colleges have programming classes and even some high school. My high school offered VBasic and C++ upon completion of Algebra 2.
The reason I ask is because you can get AWESOME resources just by attending any of these classes. I mean thes won't make you an instant hacker, but it will stear you in the right direction. Basically anything that deals with the internet, programming, or databases will put you in the right direction as far as hacking goes.
As with everything in life, you have to work for what you want and hacking is no different. Get good enough and you can't get a no clause job with the CIA. They'll hire you without a high school diploma if you can do what they need. |

I don't know how to hack, but importantly, I know that I don't know how to hack, and I'm comfortable in that knowledge.
Oh yeah, and: http://bombshock.com/forums/about773.html

Rep Power: 0 | | if you want to learn to "hack" learning the basic languages is definetly a big plus, otherwards youll have no idea what your looking at. hacking isnt a language....
oh and is anyone else here pissed off about how the media turns the word hacker into an evil, bent on world destruction term? hackers are information-seekers, theyre not going to make your computer self-implode... just popped into my head for a minute

These recent threads have caused me to rethink my college future of sorts. I know the community college I'm at offers JAVA, C, C++, and Visual. I am pretty sure they offer a course on PERL in regaurds to web applications too.
I'd like to learn most, well atleast some, of these before I leave to the traditional university. Not to hack, just general curiosity with programming.
So thank you noobs! All of this talk has spurred on a new interest. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Yeah, change the title to - " I REALLY want to learn how to crack". I'm more than certain you want to crack as opposed to hack. You don't come off as the type of person that wants to better understand a work of art. |

well, one in a million :P
a friend of mine, he knows Vbasic, C++, Pascal and understood binary lang (wich really scares the shit out of me ops: ) ever since he was about 15  he is quite the genius... top grades in everything... well, he didn't get any gfs because he didn't have much to talk about other than his new 700 pages programming manual... not saying that all programmers are like this. just that some are. and it's more than enough to give them all a bad reputation on the matter
