Grass killing?

Hey, my friend and i were wondering, what's the best way to kill grass, preferably overnight?would gasoline or wd40 work? I could just burn it mut that would be a little extreme... Thanks for your time.

There is nothing that I know of that will kill grass visually overnight. Most chemicals used to kill grass need heat and sunlight. You may technically kill the grass overnight with some chemicals but it will not be visually noticable for a couple of days to the untrained eye.

What works...
- gasoline (lit or un-lit)
- deisel (same as above)
- covering the yard in newspaper (not very inconspicuous)
- distilled white vinegar (add original dawn dish soap)
- pickling vinegar
- Grass Killer from a hard ware store
- heavily salted water

Thats all I got for now. I was a lawn care tech for awhile and I know the following work.

Be careful with the salted water, if you ever want something to grow there again your best bet is to use something else from that list. The salt will stay in the soil and can make growing difficult for quite a while.

What I have found the best for killing grass (revenge against my neighbors) is just bleach! It works like a charm! Just pick up a few gallons and dump it over the yard. Now that works best for revenge, but also it doesn't work overnight!

Massive amounts of fermented piss. Smells terrible but is gone in a week or two. It also doesn't leave any lasting damage.

Having destroyed an entire lawn with a CO2 fire extinguisher I can tell you it's certainly one way to go, although the Salt and Water combination is just as viable.

Salting soil is one of the world's oldest methods of killing plant life. Beware, nothing will grow there for years after the salting.

Yeah, because that's a fantastic idea.

Maybe a combination of the fire extinguisher method and the salting method would be ideal? Since the extinguisher could be used to initially mark the area for destruction and you could salt over the damaged area.

Just a thought.

Well as a georgia certified landscaper. I can probly tell you hundreds of ways to kill Grass. But the best way for your cause would be regular fertilizer. Use either 10-10-10 or 10-15-20 or straight nitrogen (in some states/countries its illigal to buy pure with out a lincense, but any brand that has a high nitrogen count will work fine.) and just spell out the word with the fertilizer, make sure its pretty thick. Works best if the grass is dry and the fertilizer is allowed to set for a few hours without getting wet. the grass will green back up after about a month or two. And it will kill it over night. Trust me, that the main rule about nitrogen based fertilizer. make sure its spread thin and even and make sure you water it soon after spreading, if you dont it burns out leaves very fast.

I know that concentrated sulfuric acid attacks and destroys any organic matter within seconds. I've seen it char wood within seconds. You could pick up a gallon from your hardware store, and dilute it to 10% and just pour it everywhere.

Just be sure to wear gloves and don't get caught

Salt the ground,Gasoline and fire,ect,ect. THe usual advice from me i suppose. Or i could tell you to cut your lawn.
