Default Makeshift Lockpick

I have looked at old threads but they don't really help. My lockpick and tension wrench recently departed me as I had to escape and threw them in the bushes and when I went back were destroyed and bent. I was wondering what is a good makeshift tension wrench and lockpick until my new one comes in in about 2 months as i'm planning on breaking into a house to get some of my stolen possessions back.

paperclip lockpicks are shit doent even try them cause i have and they suck

i am not a lockpicking master and but i use a different approach go buy a can of compressed air( you can get them anywere they are used to clean gaming consoles and keyboards) and a screwdriver or some old keys.

the compressed air contains liquid freon, if you tilt the can upside down and spray it it will spray liquid freon. the freon can freeze any house hold lock and even master and combination locks. now the household lock consists of a series of pins that you can pick or spray freon into the freon freezes the small metal pins and makes them very fragile then you simply jam your screwdriver or old key into the lock and turn

but if you are dealing with combination lock you just spray the entire lock with freon then smash it with a hammer

***when spraying the freon from the compressed air can it is better to spray more then less in this case so just to make sure spray extra, and the srewdriver is more preferable than the keys***

too bad freon is illegal...

EPA Banned it.

And there was just a thread about this.

I use a hammered flat coathanger. get it flat and file it to shape, it takes a while with a file but it does work. I have picked my front door which is a $100 kwikset electronic lock.

I realize the questions been answered, but I've found that bike spokes make the best make-shift picks, just need to hammer and shape them into whatever tool you need. Check out the PDF MIT guide to lockpicking, it's fantastic.

I find that the metal inserts from car wiper blades are very good as tension wrenches. they should be the wiper blades with one small strip of metal on each side not the ones with large pieces of metal right down the middle. i also found that tempering the inserts after they have been bent greatly increases their effectiveness. Tempering is a two stage process heat them once with a blowtorch or over a gas hob until they glow cherry red then quench them in water. Then heat them again until you get the blue-ish wisps on the metal then quench again. I find that these work just as well as commercial wrenches. So much so that i only use these now.

Hope this helps if you need any help or advice just ask.
Alex
