Rep Power: 0 | | Cutting edge: I dont think you know the method we are using because I made it up... I think it still could work, we just need to find the right way to execute the concept. I can make a very, very good multispec with a stamp and micropearl, but I wanted to see if it works with the alps, and from what db is saying it may not be time to give up on it.
Middltown and infested: ill pm you the method and if you see something we didnt or have some ideas then maybe you can make it work...

I didn't try microperl, however my alps is now on it's last leg so I'd be willing to pass the sheet I have on to someone else to see if they can get better results than me with an alps.

Rep Power: 0 | | OK. I am thinking micropearl will work well because that works very well with the stamp. The others that you listed that didnt work also didnt work well with the stamp, so ill pass on the methodology to infested and middletown. |

Rep Power: 0 | | hello folks, I really enjoy the wisdom and knowledge you all share here. Im new in the novelty industry and have been paying close attention to this forum. I found this to be the most rewarding forum out there. I must admit i haven't tried any methods discussed on here yet becuase i dont have any pvc printers or alps just an hp inkjet. But my need are in the MD, VA, and DC fake market and i noticed you all basically concentrate on FL and CA. If anyone can help point me in the right direction for these 3 states i will greatly appreciate it. I already have the basic artwork for MD and VA but need templates for DC and some production methods for the limited equipement i have until i can snatch some ends to cop some better equipment. I've read all the posts so far and would like if someone could explain the thermal transfer method, and let me in on the coated mylar and teslin method. you all sound pretty sharp thats why it took me so long to post a messege cuz i didn't want to sound like a comeplete ass. I know sometimes newbies can be a lil' irritating cuz they aren't up to speed so i want to put out some apologies in advance if i become annoying, but i want to learn so please bare with the new DCKAT. thnx in advance! | |

First, I am looking for a working PL4A or similar laminator for a good price if anyone has one they wanna sell or has any ideas on good/cheap places to get one.
Second, my TX IDs are still coming out too unflexible. I am using TransKote Nylon for the front, teslin, then half of a 7 mil butterfly pouch with a Mag stripe for the back. They look OK cosmetically, but aren't flexible enough. Any ideas?
Third, I have been laminating the pieces together after die cutting them all. So after laminating them I am ending up with some shift in the "sandwich" of materials and things are winding up crooked/off center. I was thinking maybe some sort of adhesive? Any ideas? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Have you tried regular 7 mil gloss for both sides? Comes out the right flexibility, just looks a bit too shiny.
Why dont you die cut it after you laminate the ID?
Yes you can use a light, light layer of adhesive spray on the teslin to make the laminate stick. It wont interfere with the final bond strengh or anything.

Rep Power: 0 | | What is this spray adhesive? Where can I get it?
I would die cut after only because of the materials being slippery they tend to shift. If the spray adhesive works well that would be excellent to be able to die cut the final product. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey caliid, can you help me out with your diffraction method? I am trying to do some good MD DC and VA nolvelties. MD has "MVA" holo 1d rainbow security feature. And i still haven't actually figured out the meterial of the id it looks as though there is a front and back stuck together but not laminated. it is much thinner and much more flexible then pvc. But i am very new to this and a lil clueless, thats why im approaching the pros. thnx in advance. If anyone is familiar with these 3 id's please feel free to reply. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Middletown, let me know if you have any questions when you get the supplies.
dckat- pm me, I dont want to let the world in on the secret... you can make a perfect 1-d rainbow holo as well and detailed as you can get a stamp made. So if you can get a stamp of the MD holo, you can make your rainbow holo.
As for more detailed 1-d multispec, middletown should be experimenting with his alps soon and we can see if he gets any results.

Rep Power: 0 | | my bad cali, I got some clear overlays to try and put some holos onto and then put it over pvc, but the overlay i got keeps a little bit of the paper it is attached to and it creates an undesiragble look on the pvc and I was looking for another way to get the holo onto the pvc w/out cutting sheets of overlay (the ones i have are card size) i might try to just remove the udesirable part of the overlay from them somehow |
