So ive been keeping an eye on this forum and finally registered when i hit a bit of a snag. Supposed I have a program that makes barcodes. For a Washington State barcodes what information do i need to put into it? When i click on the box to type in data, I do not know what information i need to type in. I assume the name and dob but what else can one do to make the barcode legitimate? |

Anybody have any info about legality of giving a template to somebody for nothing? Is that illegal?
Also, is it illegal to trade somebody a template for another template?
Perhaps a "dumb question" but I would appreciate clarification, especially since I get pm's from strangers asking me to do just this. (I do not ever do this), they can make their own if they want. I don't answer these pm's ever so please don't bother me. |

ummm, im pretty sure its illegal reguardless of trading/free. Why would anyone else be in possession of a template if we wasnt manufacturing. | | not sure | |

hello bro's
been lurking for a while here. thought i would add my 2cents.
one way of making id is printing on heat resistant pvc cards from afargo printer. these cards do not warp like normal pvc cards in laminator.
then make holos on overlay using pearlex.and feed card and holos together in lam. this should give pretty conviceing card
anyone tried fusing 2-3 layers of teslin in laminator. i tried it once but bad results..opinions |

Why do you want to fuse the tenslin together?
Quesion: Im looking for the best laminate you can buy, TXP is pretty much non-existant, I cant find Trans-Kote, and supposedly DigiKote is similiar, but they only come is rolls of 100ft or more. Doesnt anyone know of a place that sells them by the foot, or amount smaller than 100ft? |

It is not illegal to trade/posses templates, however if you were to get caught manufacturing IDs then the template possession can be used as proof or paraphernalia (similar to drug laws regarding sales and intent to sell quantities) |

one of the novelty card i want to make is plain white with very little text on it. if i do it normal way(tesil sandwiched betwwen butterfly) it looks too shiny to be real |

yea but a methos caliid2006 mentioned was to get 2000 grit sandpaper and go over the front and back in circles, removes the gloss |

Desaturate the image. Then play with the brightness/contrast until the sig is fully black and there is contrast. Then go to select>color range and bring fuzziness to 200. then copy it into a new white document. Make sure to match the dpi with your temp before you copy it in there. The signature will already be a little pixelated if you have 1200 dpi but if you want it more pixelated then run it through the pixelate filter (mosaic). |

just scan the signature at 600 dpi. Once you have done all your adjustments in photoshop then you change the dpi in the photoshop file. If your temp is 1200, then change your 600dpi scan to 1200dpi. Go to image>image size or press alt+ctrl+I. What temp are you working with? |

Hey, it seems confirmed that it is okay to trade a template with someone. So feel free to drop me a pm and see if we can help each other compile a complete collection of all states and provinces. I suppose it's always interesting to see the quality and craftmanship that goes into some of them. Mine are impeccable IMHO.

I thought I'd shed some light into this thread as I myself have made a UK drivers license before as well as a fake council workers ID.
Any PVC printer will do, as long as you have them hologrammed well and keep them in a plastic case (you know the ones you have around your neck at work, and in some colleges) and then add a generic hologram it'll look good.
When checking ID they'll be more suspicious of a squeaky clean and shiny new one, so scratch it up a little bit with some sand and add some wear and tear to it.
As long as the magnetic stripe scans into the machine then you should be good to go.
And as long as the info is realistic you'll be good as well (use someone else's acquired info, they'll get pulled in when you miss your court dates or whatever and you'll usually get away) |  | |
