MAG? On NY? Dude, get real, you have no clue what you are talking about. You are going to get a brick with transkote. Don't use it.
Try JetGaurd by Seal for NY. You will need to buy it in rolls and have a die cutter. It will work the best until you have enough capital to further your endeavors and experiment. 10mil high quality (4/6) gloss will work for the back. Make sure its HQ or the bend test will fuck you. For the sig panels, use tape and tape a nice rectangle on the back where you want the sig panel and use a high quality spray. Lightly sand the rectangle first.

You are going to waste a lot of paper trying to get the right colors. I suggest writing all the shit you try down so you don't make the same mistakes. Of course encrypt EVERYTHING YOU DO.

NO. This will not work, this is not TXP, this does not come close to TXP. You will not find TXP anywhere, ESPECIALLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
It was taken off the market BECAUSE OF FAKE IDS. You really think they are going to sell this shit to you?
Digikote= NOT even close to TXP
Transkote = NOT even close to TXP
I wouldn't be surprised if your name is now on a watch list, if it wasn't already (copper?)
DO NOT DO THIS. PERIOD.
7 mil gloss will do TXP just fine for you people. When you have enough money for TXP, you will not be posting on this website.

hxxp://www.highprogrammer.com/alan/numbers/dl_us_shared.html | Lexan Polycarbonate, I believe it works for UT too, but not 100%.
You need to find the Lexan Polycarbonate LAMINATE, not the other stuff because there is not adhesive on it. The laminate comes with adhesive and works nicely. It only comes in rolls I believe, and it will need to be die cut. That license checker is a great tool, I used it all the time.
Don't worry about the barcodes until you can get the card right, my 2 cents. |

From my experience, matte is way to stiff and it wont look right.
When you get a real license (CA, WA, TX) it is glossy, use your head. It becomes not glossy when it sits under your fat ass for 2 years. |

for CA, 7mil gloss front, 10mil w/mag back or 7mil w/mag back?
I tryed the digikote because it was said to replicate TXP but as you said its pretty damn stiff. But i actaully found a source for TXP but in the meantime I will experiment with regular gloss.
I would i colormatch? How do i change the actual photoshop system colors? |

Try digikote if you want, I think 7 mil does a better job. Use your printer settings to color match, google is a good start. Also you can consult your manual.

Ive tryed 7mil digikote for both sides and it still doesnt have the right feel or flexibility. So ill try gloss, hopefully its more flexible |

Get the colors that you want in PS. Then change your PRINTER settings to match PS. It may take you more time, but your printer will eventually be matched to your PC. Now all IDs you make will be much easier to color match.

OR wold their be a photography store that i can pay to do it for me?

purplecheese, if there were a way to do it easily then everyone would do it. The R800 is a damn good printer, nothing is going to come easily. Just perfect it with every ID you make. Changing the printer settings won't give you as many headaches.
I am assuming you know how to do it, but maybe I should just assume you are an idiot.
Got to Control Panel> Printers> right click the R800>Printer Pref> now select best photo (TAKE COLOR/PHOTO ENHANCE OFF IF IT IS THERE) select paper type you want, I use semi gloss photo> no click ADVANCED TAB and in the bottom right are you adjustments WRITE DOWN EACH ONE YOU TRY Ex. 88 Cyan, 56 mangenta, etc.

Rep Power: 0 | | Ok, ive never tryed adjusting the cyan, magenta, yellow slide bars because i just let photshop manage the color settings. Do you use artiysn/tenslin in the semi-gloss setting? Im using vista, gamma should be at 2.2 and not 1.8 in printer color controls right?
Have you used any motor adjusting programs, like spyder2 or X-Rite?

You are going to have to do some experimenting on your own.

Rep Power: 0 | | Yea i know what your talking about. I think I need to break up the print into 2 runs, because the titling and type looks ALOT better with magenta down to -25 (all the way down) but washes out the DMV bars and security lines, should be that hard to print twice |

B and H sells that calibrator for 80 bucks. It's made to match your monitor to your prints. I don't have any experience with this yet but shouldn't that make this whole process a lot easier? |

Nobody is going to hold your fucking hand. | and the kit i linked comes with software, which actually got pretty good reviews. What makes you think you need more expensive software? I was just asking if anyone has any experience with this kit or something similar. It seems as though it would simplify the color matching process.
I'm going to buy this after I buy a printer. I'll post the results |
