Rep Power: 0 | | not sure what page it was on, but somewhere on here there was a link to website with a fairly decent Florida template for free, and yes order some holos. Nobody is gonna take an id without a holo. just order some a couple from arcadia id. Otherwise just use some artysin paper and some butterfly laminates. and look for a place owned by foreigners, sounds racist but they tend to be much more relaxed about who they sell to. |

Rep Power: 0 | | yeah i will probably use artisyn instead of teslin, which one would you guys recommend for florida? also from what ive read it seems artisyn would be easier to print with
also ive read the whole thread and i dont think there was a link but ive PMed 2 people about the a florida template.
also a question about holos, will one of those holos on arciaid really pass with a florida id? that would be awesome but im not so sure about it.
oh and can anyone recommend a really cheap printer that will get the job done?

And yes artisyn>tenslin

Rep Power: 0 | | I have finally go my texas template just right, but now I am stuck on which material to print it onto. Should I use Teslin as its the exact material Texas licenses are printed on, or Artysin, because produces for brilliant colors? Does Artysin have the same density to it as Teslin?

I was thinking a normal inkjet printer might not be able to produce the colors as well on teslin as it would on artysin.
Polaroid (they actually produce the id's) are able to use state of the art printers, since, well, they are Polaroid. |

Rep Power: 0 | | all of the id's I have made so far have just used basic arcadia holos, they seem to work well out of state in college towns. I really wanna try making the texas holo. I read the tutorial on how to do it a couple pages back but it doesnt mention one thing. How do you print onto the butterfly pouches? and where do you order your powders from?

I'm new to this shit, and I'm just getting my equipment together to start it up. This thread has been super helpful.. but I got a few questions. First off, I'm planning on using a high resolution inkjet printer with teslin sheets to print on. Cutting them out with a diecutter. Then getting butterfly pouches and a laminator. Here are a few questions I cant find answers on:
question on laminator - I've heard the PL4A laminator would be the best, but is there any issues with the heat that may mess up the ink when laminating? I read somewhere that cold lamination may be best.
question on diecutter - What is the best diecutter to get? Do I get a corner rounder and just cut the rest of it out with scissors, or should I get a diecut to cut out the entire card? I can't find any that would cut out the whole card, or any that are reasonably priced.. I saw someone mention a 300 dollar one. Could any one fill me in on what is best?
UV - I was thinking about getting a UV stamp pad, and getting a custom stamp made of whatever I needed the UV to look like, and stamping the card before laminating it. I'm wondering why I havent seen anyone using this method, does it fade quickly? does the lamination fuck it up? Should I print with UV ink on a separate printer on the card? I cant figure this out.
holo - I was going to do the same here with the custom stamp and use pearlex to create the holo's once i figure out what template I want to use and what the holo looks like. Is this a bad Idea? All the premade holos I can find aren't similar to any states holos - can anyone suggest me a method on holo making?
Thanks for anyone who responds, I'm also looking for other forums/resources on this. I used to be a member of carderplanet, but that shit got closed down long ago, and now I cant find shit that is similar. Thanks guys.

Use artisyn. Dont buy pouches if you have a die cutter, buy full sheet lamination, and dont use cold lamination. Buy the PL4A, thats what I have and it works great.
Look on ebay for a die cutter, you can get them for under 50$ used. Heres an example: Heavy-Duty Credit Card Size Die Cutter 2-1/8"x3-3/8" NR - eBay (item 380061525883 end time Sep-09-08 18:50:25 PDT)
You dont need to round the corners or anything, it does all that. Just insert and punch out.
For stamping UV, ive never tried it but it sounds shitty. And I think that you should worry about making your ID's realistic before messing with that, because that alone will take a few months. Once you do that ask again and I will help you.
For holos, go all the way back in the thread and read about the thermal transfer method. I think Verizon wrote down the basics of it. And use compressed air to get rid of excess pearlex.
Do you have any temps? When did you decided to do this?

Because pouches are meant for perforated tenslin/artisyn. If you laminate your card without pouches and punch out the whole thing once laminated, it looks alot more realistic.

I actually have quite a few temps, some that are psd, but I think they are actually all old - I need to go through them and compare them to current year ID's and see if they are worth using. After that I was going to decide on what state I want to start practicing with. If you have any decent temps you wouldn't mind either selling or helping me with, I would truly appreciate it. I've read NJ is an easy one to dupe. For my beginning ID's I want to obviously have a state that people in the area aren't used to seeing, im in WA state, so any east coast temp would be perfect.
I've always been interested in carding, and I just recently had a few people ask me to make them for them, so I know I can make decent money off this from all the people that have been asking me about them, I just want to do it right and make a good product. If you have MSN/AIM/gtalk/yahoo I would love to chat with you a bit if you wouldn't mind. Thanks alot.

Do not use a UV ink pad. It will not work and based on the amount of ink on the pad can destroy your id. Been there..tried that.

10 Mil Butterfly Pouches with 1/2" HiCo Magnetic Stripe
Make secure identification by using our seamless butterfly pouches with Artisyn paper and a laminator. Our butterfly pouches are 2.125”x3.375”, the standard size for cards found in a wallet. By inserting Artisyn between the flaps and laminating it, one can produce seamless, secure identification cards that can be encoded for any purpose with a HiCo/LoCo magnetic stripe encoder such as our EasyIDea Magnetic Stripe Encoder This product will not work with a LoCo only stripe encoder. |
