Rep Power: 0 | | Does anyone know how to recreate the "rough patch" on the back of the TX laminate? It looks like it is part of a vetigial signature strip or something. Anyway, any ideas? |

Rep Power: 0 | | TX doesn't have a signature strip - as I'm aware of. If you do need to replicate that feature you can use matte spray or novus plastic treatment, 2000 grit sandpaper and a small buffer. PM me if you want details. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thanks infested! Lines being letters? Because I don't see any 'lines' in the holo or am i just blind.
what it feels like is that the holo is a sticker on top of the license so im thinkin about sayin i lost mine and go in and get another and take the holo off one of them...
caliid2006 if you have something better why not post it up? doesn't make sense not to share, this is forum is about learning, no? | | stuff | |

Rep Power: 0 | | stuff yo DSB, I woulnd't worry about the "lines" I think DB was reiterating the fact that you need high resolution photo ez; which is a pretty shitty method. If anything buy a PL4A and start with the "thermal" method. |

Rep Power: 0 | | haha yes i know you are not shutting me down.
TX does have a signature stripe near the bottom-- and easy way to do this is using a green dish washing pad and 2 pieces of tape and buffing it. Nobody will ever be able to tell the difference. |

Rep Power: 0 | | TX has a "rough" / "matte" section on the back. I am not sure what it is or why it is there. Anyone else know what I am talking about? I'll upload a picture of it when/if I get it back in my hands. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Its a signature stripe and is used for marking the check boxes on the back of the TX and I do believe they moved the signature stripe from the bottom to the upper section.

Rep Power: 0 | | (Unless TX has changed) its so you can write on the back. So you can check off one of those boxes with a pen if they apply to you.

Rep Power: 0 | | Ah that makes complete sense, it being for the check marks. I haven't seen my TX ID in a while so I don't remember where it is. But it is a recent ID so it would be accurate in the placement of the stripe. I never put that together. DB or cali, yall have any ideas for recreating that? |

Rep Power: 0 | | You can buy sig strips that you laminate on, but there is no reason. The easiest way is to simply tape off the section, and scrub lightly with a green dishwashing pad (like the rough side of a sponge). Looks fine. Dont do matte spray it will come off. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Trans Kote's nylon is similar to TXP but it feels too rough and is not as flexible. 7 mil gloss feels way closer than nylon does. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Undoubtedly TXP is nearly impossible to come by theses days. I thought maybe somebody had some laying around or knew of some way to get some. Yeah i have messed around with the trans kote and the krty and neither are really even close. I have not tried the 7 mil gloss but maybe will give it a shot...is it not too glossy bc the TXP has a rather dull finish. Someone mentioned 5 mil satin as a good sub...any thoughts? |

Rep Power: 0 | | 7 mil gloss works OK. It will feel the same in terms of flexibilty, but it is too glossy. However, it is easier to work with in laminating and with the alps printer. You can buff the surface very lightly with a dish scrubby (I use these for a lot of things as many can tell) to take off some of the shine on the gloss. 7 mil gloss will be slightly lighter than 10 mil TXP, so the ID will not weigh the correct amount, but this hardly ever matters. |

Rep Power: 0 | | i've tried 7mil glossy, 7mil matte, and 10mil nylon and have actually found 5mil satin to be the best. it's a thin layer, slightly glossy, and perfect texture. i use a thicker teslin to make up for its thinness. caliid, i'm curios what suggestions you have for the shiny cali seals and uv bears?
also, about dye sub printing, i haven't found anything that would even be testable because it needs special paper to print on (can't use teslin) and the printers typically can only print specific paper sizes (meaning you'd actually have to cut out teslin sheets if you could even get it to print on teslin). maybe these printers CAN print on teslin but all the companies i've e-mailed tell me that they don't support this paper. i'm going to ask a friend who works at a big printing company and see what he has to say. if anyone has any other printing questions let me know, i can go ahead and ask. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Has anyone ordered anything from Perf lately. I placed an order the 6th and I still haven't gotten it. Is this normal?
So ya'll think 5 mil Satin is better than the Trans Kote nylon? I am going to be using the TX ID out of state so they really are not going to be too sure of what it feels like. |

Rep Power: 0 | | The cali hologram, or any other "metallic pigment" hologram is not a real hologram, and very easy to produce. I use the alps method, which I think is well discussed one here, but if have any questions about it id be happy to help.
UV ink carts for the UV.
