Rep Power: 0 | | VooDoo- there shouldnt be any problems with mixing your UV powder in with your pearlex, although in order for your UV powders to shine thier brightest under a blacklight they would probably need to be mixed with some base. but then there lies the problem for you, you can do it one way of the other but not both. so i would suggest this....and mind you while i have never had cause to mix the two together ( i 've been down this road w/cali -holo's/ UV a while back) you should try upping you UV to pearlex ratio some, I would say maybe as much as 2 to 1, once its laminated the pearlex should cover any sign of the UV powders when looking at it in regular light, and with any luck it'll end up being enough UV powder mixed in to show up under a blacklight, your other alturnative would be to mix the UV with base and apply to lams via silk screen, then run your thermal transfer for the holo's. bottom line......there's a whole shitload of trial and errror that goes along with a hobby like this.....good luck though!

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey guys, just upgraded my magstrip encoder and i would really like to know if there was a program available that would check for accuracy in my scans. I have the jerms program and from what i can see, everything looks the same as my real california id but you can never be too safe. thanks |

Rep Power: 0 | | Texas UV Thanks for your reply Paradox. So I tried adding more UV powder and it still did not seem to work. It seemed like the Pearl-Ex would stick to the ink but the UV powder would not. So I figured maybe there was not enough ink present to get the UV powder to stick to the hologram on the transparency. I was printing at 30% opacity before so I raised it to 100% just to see what would happen. And of course this works, and the UV powder sticks to the hologram on the transparency and works under a black-light. The thing is you can not print at a 100% opacity because your holograms just don't look right. So any suggestions from here is greatly appreciated...
Also what's a good Pearl-Ex combination for Texas that somebody knows or is using. I am just trying to get some ideas on what combination works the best. I am using Inference Gold, Sparkle Gold, and than the invisible green UV powder. I read to use that mixture on the forum a few pages back but was not sure if there is something better.

Rep Power: 0 | | California Novs Hi all, Ive read just about all of this thread and was wondering if you had any recommendations for using a stamp holo (on California specifically). I've gotten it pretty close, but its not quite where I want it to be. The shining color is good, but when light is not bouncing off the holo it is very light and almost invisible. I have tried various combinations of Interference gold, sparkle gold, brilliant gold, macropearl, interference green, and Duo Green/yellow (obviously not all together). Any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated, either for how to apply the stamp (whats best to spread the pearl ex across?) or a combination/new pearl ex color. Thanks for the help. |

Kind of hard to say whether or not this is any better though since I haven't seen a TX id in RL. It's probably not too big of a difference than your mix. I'd like to hear other peoples opinion on this as well.

Rep Power: 0 | | Does anyone know how to encode a pdf417? I dont know what all I need to put. I am making a wisconsin one if it makes a difference. Also, to anyone who cant get PDFCenter to work, make a new folder somewhere else on your computer and then drag the pdfcenter files to that folder and try to run it from there. It worked for me. |

Also, has anyone purchased from neomark before (besides baggs)? I just received my order of 6 UV colors and i need further help. If someone could help me who have purchased them before please let me know.
Thanks.
EDIT: Does anyone have any good red UV ink? It seems the one i received from neomark doesnt give off that much of a red color.

Any ideas? | Yes. Two.
1. He is typing in the birthday (some POS systems just prompt for that).
2. He scanned the ID (it read over 21) and now he is typing in the DL# to confirm that the one on the card matches the one on the mag stripe. The reason for this is because back in the day people used to sell pouches "pre encoded" with birthdays over 21, which is all most POS systems look for in a scan.... the state guys got smarter though, so now some systems require the DL# check to make sure its legit... Its still very easy to circumvent this though- just make sure you encode the birthday AND the DL# on all your IDs... found on track 2 for California.
best of luck | | California Colors

Rep Power: 0 | | California Colors Some questions for you CALIFORNIA nov makers.
(first two questions only apply if you're using R800 + 7 mill glossy pouches)
1. What color code do you use for your orange bars at the top (pretty sure I use fbd51e although its not right in front of me)
2. What about color code for the security circles in the background? I want to note that I use the same colors for my circles as I do for my gold bars.
3. How do you guys round your corners? I feel like the corners of my NOVs and most other novs tend to be more sharp then the sexy wide corners of a real ID. |

Rep Power: 3 | | the best way to make a ID card is to not get perforated teslin nor CC butterfly pouches.. the best way to do it is make an oversized one and cut it out using a die cutter.. all problems will be solved.. you can get one on ebay for around 60.00 .. it is the best thing created.. a must have to be in this biz | | A little help

Also I found a list of all the states that have magnetic stripes on their back. Now I want to figure out which states use the silver or gold holograms instead of the multicolor spectrum. So far I know California, Michigan, and New Hampshire all use these type of holograms. Here is a list of the states with mag stripes, identify hologram type if you:
arizona
arkansas
california
colorado
iowa
kansas
louisiana
michigan
minnesota
missouri
new hampshire
new mexico
pennsylvania
south carolina
texas
vermont | Colorado has gold holograms |
