my first post - please don't flame too much
i read a lot about faking ids (wasted a lot of time during university^^) but basically all the information is mostly about PVC and whats worst, not findable anymore, incomplete or outdated.
so i start to ask you - yes, you...and you....and you...
First of all i have a very general question:
whats the magic about duotone? is it just the color changing effect? or are these pigments the only ones reflecting from the side angle....
my question is about the Ids i want to fake. they have green(/yellow=very bright green) and two orange holos. so can i use all pearl-ex pigments (especially green and orange) or am i forced to use duotone?
Whats the trick about mixing them...difficult/possible? -> read mostly that it's not possible (with your used gold pigments) 'cause they turn silver-crap...
secound question is also very general:
are the holos made of pearlex transparent? or are they non-transparent...i hope you understand my question...the holo overlais nearly 1/3 of the ID, so a non-transparent holo would be absolutely useless for me....please don't laugh at me if this question sounds too stupid but everything has to grow....and i think it must be transparent (one source told it) but i never heard something concretely besides the one source and me trying to think logical
so lets go on:
what's about the "thermal transfer holo method" i didn't find anything useful - just that thermal printing has something to do with special printers - so i step forward to my other unsolved problems^^
next:
if i get proper answeres I can go on...anyway...i need a shop for all the materials which delivers to europe...i found Pearl-ex series 1 and 2 on ebay for a good price - but it's not duotone (a/m)....maybe you got a good store for me...
but there is more:
whats about the stencil? why don't use photoEZ? alternatives? -> thermal transfer holo method (a/m)?
and last but not least:
whats about the material to print on...some sources talk about tesline/asiline -> but in context of PVC...and others told me that for non-PVC good paper is enough (probably it's the best paper for both, so why don't use it....)
i got my psd, im skilled enough in PS and i need a hobby so i decided to try this...i have no real criminal intension....i guess in europe when your dealing with IDs (which are not crap) you get pretty fast into deep trouble with people you don't want to fuck with....so better not...but it's art, made me think about solving problems and it needs time and discipline to be successful, so it can't be wrong for my person...

My question:
For those printing directly to PVC, how do you apply a pearlex holo? Do you use the heat transfer method with a thin laminate over the card like the teslin and butterfly pouch method? Or is it easier to use the photo-EZ stencil and simply apply without a final protective layer/laminate?
I would like to purchase an Epson R280 with the PVC card printing tray for better looking IDs, but am slightly confused how to apply the prealex with this method.
Thanks! |

Rep Power: 0 | | inkjet teslin printing So I'm new, bare with, i'm printing on 10mil inkjet teslin with an epson nx400 however when I run the teslin through it blurs the picture and background of the NV id. However, some of the print comes out perfectly, the microprint in the top corner and dob, height, etc come out great.
I've tried various printer settings (paper, and quality setting combinations). Do I need to change the DPI in photoshop or what am I missing?
Anybody that can help PM me and I'll hook up the NV template i'm working with, high quality layered photopshop novelty with a great pic or Cartmen from south park. | | | |

I used to use an HP with fantastic results, but it wasnt mine, so I have another that prints crisp text, but awful pictures. My question:

Rep Power: 0 | | hey acidraindrops. you have the epson nx400 all in one? I've got the nx100, which is the same thing just without any extra options. Has the same printing mechanism. I print on artisyn and mine come out pretty damn good for a $70 printer. So if your having extreme problems of smearing and stuff, then its most likly not your printer. Just my $.02 |

Your collection of FakeID stuff is the absolute best I have seen on the Internet
to date. Please provide me with a account to be able to download the complete
archive. I attempted before to download everything, but your website, I assume,
was thinking it was being Denial of Serviced. It was not.
I guess my using Internet Download Manager made your site freak out.
It did offer the ability to download everything via 1 complete .rar file, but
when I tried that, it timed out at about 50%.
Please either re-enable that ability, or, if you want to control whom has access,
enable me a Login account so that I may take advantage of the download
option. Otherwise, it will take forever to download everything by hand.
Otherwise, you uploaded a TREASURE! Thank you man, and please reply me in PM
I gave both you and anonymousman a +1 toward your reputations.
Awaiting your reply tehseeder. |

I have some important ?'s to be asked..... first off, does anyone in there right mind know if i can run laser teslin through teh new dye based ink epson printers as its getting to be a hassle to find printers that use durabrite pigment ink nowadays and laser teslin just bonds so so much better then crappy inkjet teslin.
Also I need to know the color holo codes for 02+ cali and 02+ tx holos.
My cali used to consist of sparkle gold, spring green, and i think inference gold, or macro pearl.
TX was inference gold, micro pearl, and sirchie 206 or a yellowish green from RR
But i dont have the exact mix levels like 40-40-10 etc.
Please help if you can. |
