Default An idea for cheque fraud

I'm sure many of you have seen the real hustle on bbc3 or if your in the states you've seen it by torrenting it or through youtube.

Well I came across this scam and it seemed a good idea at the time, and I wanted to know what your thoughts were on it.

You get one of these pens:

Take the rubber off so the scam isn't given away

You get someone to write a cheque for you with the erasable pen you give them to write it with, then take it back once they've filled it in.

Take it away and then change who it is payable to, the amount and anything else, but you do it with a proper pen, and go over the signature in a proper pen aswell.

The only way I can see me getting fucked over is if there's eraser marks left over.

The erasers on those pens don't work at all. 90% of the time, depending on how much ink was put on there, there are marks left over. Also, people who keep the checkbooks in strict order will notice the change in amount and might have a few words to say with you, maybe in court.

yes it will work only if you have a false bank account set up. if you dont and you cash the cheque in your account the police will have no problems getting to you and you only have yourself to blame.

So if your professional enough to have a string of bogus bank accounts then yes it will work....or you can use stolen cheque books to write cheques to yourself and take out the money before the account holder realises.
