if the camera can pick up infrared they will see all white if it doesn't they'll just see the regular picture until the image sensor is destroyed it may also work with a dvd burner but that makes a visible red line through the air and can actually burn things. it will be faster but more noticable

I'm shure there is a rather rediculis thread involving temporarly blinding cameras with lasers in the electronics section.... according to that thread this works.
But it is hardly worth the effort.
Better to walk in with a generic bag (eg. Wherehouse) take the goods around a corner into a blindspot then put in the bag. This works really well in electronics stores like Dick Smiths for stealing USB drives and the like.

Last week, I was in Dublin. I went into a fairly large bookstore. I was in the comics section. I saw The Death Of Superman. I picked up a sample copy with now shrikwrap, had a flick trough. No security tags (or so I tought). I stuffetd Superman into my backpack. I proceeded to walk out the door. BEEEEP. The alarm went off. I look at the security gaurd. He looks at me. He knods for me to keep going, so I do. I was free.

I dont know about magizines but books have the magnetic dectors in the spine of the book.... i remember reading somewhere that similar magnetic devices can be deactivated using a magnet/solinoid, if anyone has any info on this please share

I know at barns & noble if you flip through the pages, you will find a RFID security tag just loosely in between some random pages, you just have to take it out.

I just remembored... you can use a 'magic baggie'- that is a foil lined bag. You can modify the ones that are used for pree cooked chiken at supermarkets. If it can prevent your cellphone from ringing inside it then you know that it will cover the signal device that you are trying to hide.

Since they only use 1 bag for the whole park, simply go into another shop and put stuff into the bag and walk out without buying anything. People walk in and out of the shops without buying anything all day so it won't look at all suspicious. Disney world is the easiest place to steal from IMO.

Strangest feeling your talking about marching band. I know that my schools marching band goes down ever three yeard (i play the Snare because its loud and kicks ass)
Ah and i also recently visited north Carolina (and found out wal-mart has alcohol) so snuck some out quite simple. I had my sister and brother which the created quite the ruckus at the other end of the registers which gave me just enough time to slip the alcohol into my pant legging and walk out far enough to get it out and to the care quickly. My next tip is try to shoplift from stores you dont plan on re-visiting or anywhere near your residence.

He let him go because those things go off all the time. The stuff i stole from wal-mart and beeped is amazing and they always let me go.

Just doing a little more research on security tags as I have forgotten most of what I knew... got this from totse - enjoy
DEFEATING SHOPLIFTING SECURITY TAGS:
Generally, three types of security tags are used:
Radio Frequency Tags -
These are a spiral shape. They can be disarmed by making a slit in them. Sometimes radio frequency tags are actually embedded in the cardboard packaging.
Electromagnetic strips -
These are a tiny strip of metal. They can usually be pulled off but if you want to disarm them, you can do so by magnetising them. They can be magnetised by waving a powerful magnet in front of the strip repeatedly for 20-40 seconds.
Acousto-magnetic tags -
These tags are a centimetre in length and width. They stick out of the box about a sixteenth of an inch. There are three metal strips going through these type of tags, one of the strips actually shrinks if you go through the sensor and it sets off the alarm. You can disarm these tags by demagnetising them.
You can demagnetise an acousto-magnetic tag by waving a regular magnet over it several times, in a different direction each time. Another way of demagnetising them would be to use one of the two magnets inside your computer. It depends on what computer you have but a lot of the time these magnets aren't needed. I took mine out of my computer and they work good because they have a North Pole and South Pole on either end and either face of the magnet. (They are able to do this because they are made of two different metals.) i.e.
North South

FAQ:
"If I line the inside of a bag with tin foil and put a stolen object inside, will it set off the alarm?" Despite popular belief, the tin foil will not shield the contents of the bag from the magnetism. Foil will work with radio frequency tags (the ones that look like a spiral), by shielding the tag from any radio frequency (RF).
---
"How do radio frequency tags work?"
A transmitter sends out a RF, the tag picks up the RF and emits its own RF that is picked up by a receiver.
---
"Why would making a slit in an RF tag disarm it?"
If you make a single break in the spiral, the circuit will be open and thus can no longer produce any RF.
---
"In disarming acusto-magnetic tags, what's the advantage in having a north and south pole on either end of either face of the magnet?"
When something becomes magnetized e.g. a piece of iron, all that is happening is that the magnetic atoms of the material are becoming aligned (they point the same way). The south pole of the magnet is moving the magnetic atoms in one direction and the north pole of the magnet is moving the magnetic atoms in a different direction. Because the magnetic atoms are not pointing the same way, they are not aligned and thus, not magnetized. Demagnetising the tag can be done quicker with the computer magnet because if you sweep the magnet over the tag 5-10 times, it will more than likely be demagnetised. While with a regular magnet, I'd sweep it over the tag around 30 times just to be on the safe side.
If you are still unsure that these methods work, go to your local CD shop (they usually use electromagnetic strips) and take the strip off the CD, magnetise it and stick it to somebody's back. See if the alarm goes off when they walk out.

Guess he thought I was ok. After that, every shop with bleeping things, the alarm went off. Stopped after a while. Later on, down the road, I was in HMV. I was downstairs in the Metal section. Saw a CD I felt like stealing (mild kleptomania), so i removed the plastic wrapping from arount it, took out the cd. I was gonna put it in my pocket, but a security gaurd started standing near me and looking at me, so I put the cd back. Few mins later, I left.

in larger stores they have plain clothed guards. these are what you have to really watch out for. i have nearly been caught by them so many times. and the only time i was caught was by one of them. be aware of the people around you, if you think one of them is following you, suddenly go to another area of the shop, if they go the same way as you, you go to another area, if they keep it up leave. they tend to follow people who look dodgy and they will follow them the whole time they are in there

I was just about to say that. Barnes and Noble and even Wal Mart now employ embedded HF, Passive RFID tags.

fail indeed but one method that's been working or me is as follows
1.grab shit
2.go to toilet and take it out of the plastic
3.set the toilet paper on fire pull the alarm and go out the fire door

Just something to add to this post. The detectors at the doors are basically useless. The staff of stores are told that there is nothing they can do if you set one off. Now if your followed by a detective or caught on camera they will be waiting for you to leave and your busted. Too many times I have made legit purchases of items with strips only to have the checker not deactivate them properly, and when going out I have set them off. The first few times this would happen I would stop, try to find the offending item and then I would have to find a checker to deactivate the strip properly. However now when it happens I just keep walking and I have Never, I repeat NEVER have had a store employee chase me down to examine the items in my cart. I have had a few people in that entry way give me strange looks after setting one off but I don't really care. I just keep going to my car and left. Just an FYI post.

robbin the hood.
First im gonna start by sayin that the first priority when doin anything illegal should be gettin away with it. whats the point of doing a crime if you know ur just gonna get cought. so before you do anything, you need to be at least 85% sure that ur gonna be able to get away with it.
the one trick I know about stealin stuff from stores is tin foil, i dont know if someone has already mentioned it, to be honest im too lazy to read all of threads right now.
Tin foil will block the sensor tags, although I've only done this with the sticker kind, have not used on big tags.tin foil works great. I used to work at a grocery store, I was there for about 3 months. I didnt get that much, just a bottle of Jager meister,(limited addition, came a tin case), a bottle of johnny walker wiskey, and of course a bottle of jack daniels.
all three times I wrapped the bottles in tin foil and was able to just walk out the front door. with tin foil you can line anything, line pockets in a jacket or pants, you can line the inside of a back pack and stick what ever the hell you want with it.
another tip, this is only for the begging proffesional, obviosley this is for more than just a free soda or bottle, this is to come the fuck up.
for all the small timers, this is above you.
if you really want to come up on a place what better way then to work there. "but I already have a job" you might say, doesn't matter, go to an electronics store or something, try to get hired part time, sure you'll be getting extra money but the main goal is to learn how to store works, find out who works security, where the camera's are, where motion detectors are installed, little shit like that,if you really want to go all out, try to learn the alarm code, and safe combo. also very important. when you start woking in the store, you have to kiss major ass, kick ass in what ever you do there, hell if you can, try to become employe of the month, what you want to do is make them think that you are loyal and on their side and all that bull shit, basically you want them to trust you.
Now as for taking ur share. once you get the whole system down, you can go about robbin the place in two ways.
1: pocket things peice by piece, for ex. if the target store is an electronics store you start taking mp3's, portable dvd players, phones ect.
you can either make bank selling them or just keep it for your self and live large.
2:Get a small team to together and just flat out rob the place in the middle of the night, where lets say you close the store up, oops!! you were so tire and stressed out over the death or your......pet goldfish? (or what ever you want) and you forgot to lock the back door. pull up a van or truck and start loading T.V.'s, stereo's, home theatre system's.$$$$$ or live like a king.
(option 2 would require learning alarm code)
Note:You should work there for at least 3-4 months before attempting anything. remember, the more they trust you the less they will suspect you.
