Depends on which one you like. I actually haven't done it for a little while now. Trying to save ink for important stuff. Testing gets pricey. I can test all day if it weren't my money. lol |

I guess I'll start with the 25% 20 lb since its easiest to buy and if I dont like the results, I'll order some 100% cotton online. |

in person the one on top "the fake one" has a slight red tint to it "very slight" and the real one bottem has a verrry verrrry light yellow green tint to it and if you look at the borders there to dark and the greens dont match up very well
now that is only on the most basic printer settings but its pretty much the same on the highest printer setting

That's good FPSee but I wouldn't admit to anything. By the way I would cool it on the clubs near by for a bit because the law will notify other clubs to look out and maybe near by business's. Maybe I'm being just a little paranoid but it is possible. You better hope those 20's got out of the club. If not, you and your friends including the bartender are the only ones with fingerprints on those bills.
As for nickk2234, If you have a good scanner and are scanning them right you shouldn't have to change the color really. You are either doing something wrong or your scanner/printer isn't good enough. As for the color I stated in a previous post on how to do it. That is the way I know and it worked fine. |

Alright so I finally got all the materials needed to start. I printed my first 5 today just to see how it would come out. After several attempts on the Canon MP190, the ivory tinted background is too light on the copy and the micro printing 'details' are not on point. I read the manual and everything but there's nothing about tweaking the settings. Shetlan I believe you said you had a Canon mp160, it's very similar to the 190, how do you tweak your settings? I did a Google search also and couldn't find anything... Also, I did the 20lb paper in the downy wash and it felt very close to the material a normal dollar bill is made out of.

Hey ladies and gents! Alright, so I discovered this thread and this site yesterday.... READ ALL 17 PAGES! Prob. thinking how she do that? Wel.... Im doing research, even though I've been at this for about a year, but am really deciding to pursue it.... to the point where I really dont even go to work anymore, plan on making the last bit of perfections and quitting my j-o-b (Just Over Broke) within the next 2 months.
So.... a little about my work:
-I used to use the HP 6500 (for financial reasons had to get rid of it.... works very well though). Aligning on this printer takes quite some time. It does have a duplexer, but I just recommend (for jamming reasons with the actual bill) not using it and just adjusting the scanned (for copying only) bills position when making the copy (scan vertically, NOT horizontally, alignment is tooooo hard)
-Currently I use a canon pixma something, its too early here and not going to get out of bed, lol, will post exact model later. Anyhoo.... I dint really like it, in my opionk its a cheap printer, so quality isnt that great (when funds are here, will get a better printer); however, alignment is WAY easier (the input of the paper onto the paper trays position in relation to how your scans come out make it easier to work with.
-I use 100% cotton 24lb southworth (walmart, lol, my 2nd fav store).... ivory
-I never softened my bills in the dryer, after printing and drying, spray them with suave unscented extra hold hairspray. Before doing so after the ink has dried, I loosen the bills with my hands, one bill at a time, lol. Then do the hairspray, both sides. Afterwhich I loosen them again then front and back rib each bill on the fabric of my couch (help a bit with "worn" texture), then loosen it again with my hands. After all my bills are loosened and quite wrinkley, I sit then over night under a hard heavy object (printer, books, whatever).... in the morning, things come out fine, but I like to loosen it once more before I head out.
-I dont ever suggest scanning the bills onto your computer..... incase you are caught. First and foremost, those of you who have attempted to use bills and have been able to get the bills back, you are some lucky sobs! By law, stores HAVE TO takw the bill(s) as well as the financial hit and call the police.... they will contact the secret service. As you know, some stores may not do it because the cashier may not know she/he has to. I wouldnt recommend taking that chance. Anyhoo, you get caught, the take your printer and computer looking for evidence.... too risky.
-How I would recommend exchanging the bills for cash are simply as stated, exchanging them. How so? PEOPLE ON THE STREET....ask them for change (for that reason I NEVER make higher than 10s). The thing I like most about this is worst they can do is say no or they dont have change, little to no risk of jail time. I recommend using this method on public transportation, perfect reason to HAVE TO ask people for change. Dont forget to say that stores want you yo buy something and you dont have the money to waste right now..... other transportation customers will help you out. If theres a change machine near by.. you dont want $5 worth of quarters.
-Another passing method I'd suggest, sorry if it offends some, involves homeless people. Find people asking for change.... typically theyve been there for a while. Be friendly and approchable, theyre bound to ask you for change. Then, you tell them that you'll give them money IF they can give you change for a 5. If they've been there a while, they have it. They'll do it if they have it, they'll get a bogger bill AND money, sounds like a win win for them. PLUS, they will have a hard time pinning the fake on you!
-I like both my passing methods because they both have "get away" periods. Oh.... I would recommend NEVER pass in the city you live in.... unless you HAVE TO in which case get in and out, ver quickly AND AVOID ANYWHERE WITH CAMERAS!
-I read questions about fingerprints being on bills, there a way aroung that! Mask your fingerprints one of 2 ways without looking suspicious. One, use new sand paper and go at it on your fingers, wont hurt, may sting a little with the wood but I wouldnt recommend it, you may have an allergic reation. But it lasts a while. What I would recommend is using super glue, krazy glue or nail glue to coat your fingertips, this will alter your fingerprints (at least on paper, test by after applying and drying using a colored marker and doing a finger print and do one prior to masking to notice print difference).
-AND IF IN THIS FOR PROFIT... DONT GET ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED! The more people that know, the more chance of you getting caught. Personally, for me, its more that passing and getting something for it, I travel, I have fun! YOU HAVE TO!

make the 20% Cotton paper Feel like money is Do a Downy wash, put all the pieces of paper on a cooking tray/sheet, and let them dry in the sun. The take a Clothes iron to them to flatten them out and to give them a more 'Crisp' Dollar bill feeling. |

Maybe it's just me but, is it really worth getting caught just to get some drinks? I know, it's probably just a test... but I'd not think your freedom was worth a few drinks.
I've been reading a little on this site, when I can. I'm looking for something that cannot be traced back, and is very low risk.
Maybe a one time deal, that will last my a while, funds-wise. Yeah, aren't we all looking for this....
As for going back to the scene of the crime, not very wise. |
