Rep Power: 1 | | Micr?? Does anyone know of a way to print checks at home that will scan at the register?? The MICR that is sold by companies like VersaCheck does NOT work, it has a low ferrous content and the toner doesn't scan at all, I've tried VersaCheck's brand, HP's brand, and a couple generic brands of MICR toner and none of them seem to scan at the register...need some help here!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | the cons are its a waste of time. personally i tried it and especially with the $1 bill (which has the most ink) its near impossible. and then when i got it off the bill was so thin it became useless. your best best is using the new $5's. far less ink than one's and come off much easier. good luck

Rep Power: 0 | | So, finally got the washing and printing down and decided to try it out. Washed a five and printed a hundred on it. The only templates I had on hand were a new twenty,an older ten, and a semi-older hundred. I decided the new twenty had too many security features on it and that it just wasn't worth the trouble to print a ten on a five. So printed the hundred, ironed it, and went to a flea market nearby. Eventually tried to buy a pair of jeans at ones of the clothes shops. Handed the guy the money and without even checking anything on it ,by just feeling it, he rejected it saying "no, no good its fake". I argued a little bit with him and he brought it to a nearby jeweler to double check. He handed it to her and she looked real quick, felt it a little and said "no it has signs it fake". No one checked the watermark or used a pen. I kept insisting it was real and started showing them the watermark and strip. They kept acting really passive and not really acknowledging it like they just didn't want to accept it no matter what. I asked the jeweler to check again and she brought out the pen and marked it. She looked a little shocked that it came up good so she marked it again. On the second mark she said "no it came out too dark" after that I didn't want to push my luck anymore so I just left with it. I worked as a cashier before and I've used those pens, looked like the right color to me. I think they just really didn't want to accept it because of how it feels.

Rep Power: 1 | | Well first off IGETIT, you don't. The people working at flea markets own their own businesses and basically can't afford the loss, they know their money. I once owned two businesses that operated out of sepparate wings of an indoor flea market, when I went walking among the booths I would be passing carnies, ex-convicts,. gypsies, wanderers, hippies, and bikers. These people are a little more street-wise than you'r average store-clerk so they either saw right through you, or right through your bill Either way you got multiples of them to distinctly remember you. Good Job. Try your bill at a real store when it's busy, or you could always use it to buy drugs, especially when it's touch and go it's really easy to work a fake bill this way | | Personally

Rep Power: 0 | | Personally Im having a hard time deciding if I should wash 5's into 100s or wash 1's into older 5's. If I make 100's I plan on selling to a few dealers I know, but Im making 45 on every 5 I spend (not counting cost of production- charge .50 on every 1). If I make 5's.... I will hit unspecified locations asking people for change... 100% return..... lower return AND lower production cost.
IN YA'LL OPINIONS, WHAT SHOULD I DO? Im looking for the fastest way to hit it hard and get out the game... at least for a while.....
Thanxxx in advance for responses..... |

For you guys, what kind of success rate have you had, especially in a day time environment such as flea market, liquor stores, retail stores, etc? Also while it is busy or slow. We can all really appreciate some feedback, thank you. |

Rep Power: 0 | | IGETIT, a part of your problem may have been the lack of the feel of intalgio printing on the paper. Even if the paper itself felt real, the 'raised ink' feel of the portrait may be missing. I have started to notice a lot of retail store cashiers casually feeling the portrait to feel if it is bumpy/raised. And ofcourse.. a $100 bill would throw a red flag regardless..
I have been pondering over the ways to make a watermark. One plan I had in mind for a while just failed upon testing. I used a pen, pencil, and colorpencil to pre write lightly on a piece of paper, and THEN printed a bill on it. Funny thing is, the lines show clear through the print of the bill, as if the printer does not even print on the places where anything is written. I also tried writing on the piece of paper, then putting light whiteout on it, then printing on top, hoping the bill would print just fine while holding it up to the light would reveal the made up watermark. Two things went wrong. 1. The printer does not even print on the white out part; completely skips it, oddly. 2. The whiteout itself became sort of a watermark, looking at it in light made it look like the white out's variance in thickness acted as a lightblocker, making it appear like a watermark.
Second experiment I did was to preprint lines on the paper. My intention was to then feeed the paper back to print a bill on it, hoping the ink of the bill would overwrite the ink of the PREPRINT lines, but they would still show through light. It didn't work; same thing as before, the PREPRINT lines completely showed through the ink of the bill, as if the printer did not overwrite the preprint lines at all.. Odd.
Well, thats my work for the day. Feel free to leave any feedback! | | | Have you thought about....

Rep Power: 0 | | Have you thought about.... In the new versions on MS word, you can actually make a watermark, using a pic on your hard drive. Find a pic of the watermark image, change the transparency before you make copies of your bill. Havent tried it, just a thought. Im more on cleaning and printing.... anyhoo, dont forget to keep us updated. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey this it my first post, I've read through and i haven't seen anything about a micro print that comes out on the bills if you use a computer printer. Ive been looking around and doing some research on this and I'm still a newb on this whole thing. But on a few forums and videos' people mention the micro print, and how it can be tracked back to the specific printer.
Personally I think it's kinda bogus, since printers get sold daily...and traded and swapped and given away. So if people do print so much, how aren't they being caught if this exsists?

Anyhoo... weather or not you take your bills to a store or however you get them off, all comes down to 2 things: quality and confidence. I personally think the safest way is to ask people on the street for change (small bill or course).... most they will do is say no. As far as dealers are concerned.... HOW IS SELLING TO A DEALER (BILLS) SO HE CAN PURCHASE PRODUCT RISKY ON MY PART? NOT RISKY AT ALL! Friend is using method of just copying and printing on the clean bill | If the problem is persistent, then you need to alter the image of the bill before you print. Remove the background and the yellowish stuff should go away.

Most retail stores have far too many customers to track the use of counterfeit currency - unless you use a massive number of notes per visit. Additionally, using a $10 or $5 almost guarantees that the bill will be given out to another customer as change rather than making it to the cash office.
I've posted several cash in methods throughout the thread, and I offered additional information on it to people I think are serious about the subject.

$5/person.... 1 person/5 minutes...... for 12 hours.... 5 days a week..... 3 weeks a month.... $9,000.......
UP SIDE TO MY METHOD:
-no camera's
-high traffic area's only
-certain type of person exchanged with (will not name type)
-bill will MORE likely than not be put into circulation ESPECIALLY with the specific types of people I have identified as my target market
-Im always on the go.... never in same area for extended periods of time
- NEVER have to back track to the scene of the crime once I leave (AKA return merchandise)
-If someone thinks its fake, they'll decline (rather than call cops.... especially when using public transpo., people are on the go, they dont have TIME to inspect a mesely $5 bill.... who does that anyway)
-THIS IS BASICALLY A PAID VACATION.... being that you will never do this where you live
-this is done in big cities, so by the time, if at all, you are found out, you are LONG gone....

Secondly, your assumption that you could realistically find another person who would give you change every "five minutes" is laughable. Most of the people aren't going to have it, those that do aren't stupid enough to take out their wallets in any mass transit station.
Don't forget the distinct possibility that you'll be mugged when one of the other scammers in the station realizes that you've got a pocket full of money. Quote:

1: Practically every mass transit station in the country has cameras.
2: How that qualifies as a perk of your plan is beyond me - when the transit mode leaves, it's not a high traffic area anymore.
3: Whatever the hell that's suppose to mean
4: Again, whatever the hell that's suppose to mean.
5: Which means your "every 5 minutes" numbers should probably be reduced to "every hour".
6: Really, you intend on travelling across the country doing this? How else do you intend on "not coming back to the scene of the crime"?
7: "Who does that anyway" - my god. I have no way to answer that.

Rep Power: 0 | | Sorry about before, you did mention the micro-dots once, with the canon you should be able to print without the need worry about microdot tracing because you wouldn't be needing to hook anything upto the internet...right? the way I see it hundreds of thousands of printers get sold a day and on the recipes theres no serial. Not really trying to do this myself, just seems like not too many people get caught for how much is getting passed nowadays.
I myself work for a bank and since seeing the forum I've thought twice about receiving 20s' 50's and 100's haha. Even caught myself moving too fast and not checking for color changes in the features on the newer bills.
Another question.. is there a way to duplicate the glittery effect on the 100? or has someone figured out how to get the color change? and what about the slightly raised look of the ink? |

Rep Power: 6 | | Micro-dots don't matter unless you've registered the printer.
Granted, they can link the bills to the printer if they find the printer - but they need to find you to find the printer. So, assuming you don't register the printer, the printer can't lead them to you. Quote:

The glittery effect is easy to duplicate, as is the color shift - methods for doing so have been discussed.
