There are thousands of kinds of safes, with several different types of locks, made of different assortments of materials, and unless you know what kind of safe it is (model and make) there's nothing we can do to help you.

If you truly want to know this incase you loose the ket or what ever, then, from what i believe you can contact the company that produces the safe and they will have a unique template for your specific safe. This template is placed on the front of the safe and then you need to hammer something hard and sharp/pointy (the kind of thing you mark metal with for measurements but i forgot the name) and the safe should pop open.

By the way, iv never done this or seen it happen, i think i read it in FHM once...

As stated, safes are very different and each one requires a specific process to be cracked. Also, you should buy a safe that is really low quality because it will be easier to crack.

An Arc welder is likely to destroy anything inside the safe to - you keep on thinking that though.

I never said I was going to try it, and noone said there was anything inside the safe. It would technically open the safe.

Apart from that, maybe industrial laser cutter? Safes by design aren't meant to be able to be broken into through overly conventional means.

Dentree, don't be stupid.

An Arc Welder? An industrial lazer cutter? What are you going to suggest next - a few pounds of C-4?

This is my first real, helpful, post. So here goes. I have a little experience with safes. Firstly, real safecrackers spend A LOT of time researching the safe the plan on cracking. Some are as easy as an arc welder/ diamond tip drill. Some..not so much. Most higher-tech safes now a days have a glass/some other material protectant plate. The plate is put either all around the inside of the safe or where you would drill in through the front. When this plate is broken there are one of two things that could happen. One it ruins everything in the safe. Or two, the safe's drive wheel/tumblers are purposefully broken locking the safe forever. If you really want to get started in safecracking I suggest buying a cheap safe and getting a copy of "Techniques of SAFECRACKING" by Wayne B. Yeager. It's short and sweet, but has loads of knowledge. There are plenty of other books out there, and I'm sure they are good as well, but that is the book I started with. Hope this helped.
