Default Magnetic Stripe Software HELP!!!

Okay I just purchased this expensive Magnetic Stripe Card Reader/Writer.

I tried to use TheJerm MSR206 but it wouldn't work!!!

When I launched the program the error game up

Run Time Error "8002"
Invalid Port

Then I tried to set the port to com1 and it said nothing found on com 1.

The only piece of software that I found to work was

[url="http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sensors/ID/EL03-CRW.zip"]MSR Software/URL]

Can anyone tell me of other software.
Or how I can modify TheJerm

THANKS

Usually a runtime errors are not always your fault. Sometimes it can be cause by a missing file. I would contact the maker of the software for help. They should be able to help you with that specific runtime error code. Especially if maybe another software at least picks it up.

All the files are there.
I downloaded 3 seperate packages from 3 different sites.
All the same files and sizes are there.

Checksum also checks out.

I'm not sure if it's looking for a specific type of MSR or something.

Are you using a usb MSR, serial MSR hooked up to a serial port, or serial MSR hooked up with a usb cable? Did you look in device manager to see what port your msr was hooked up to?

The device manager says COM1.

The Magnetic Stripe Reader/Writer is hooked up like this

This unit takes power from an available PS2 port and passes information through the RS232 serial port.

It shows up fine in the device manager.

Any Ideas?

Are you using the enhanced version of the Jerm aka xxxSpyxxx version?

Not sure.

I'm using the version that comes with the Ultimate Fake ID Guide V2.

I've also tried 1.78

Should of caught this earlier when you mentioned PS2 port. You don't have a MSR, you have some knockoff.

Is there anyway to make it work with TheJerm?

It uses the same serial RS232 port.

There is some info about the device.

Not without reverse engineering the Jerm.

Have you tried exeba? Or have you tried the msr206 software program, I too was sold a knock off a few years ago, It only did lo co cards. Not high co. But still both exeba as well as the msr206 program worked..

Thanks.

But if you read the thread you would know that I tried TheJerm MSR206 and it didn't work.

That's what this entire thread is about.

I'm going to try Exeba.

Is it the Exeba Swipe or the Exeba Comm program?

Thanks Again
