What do you people think of Bill O'Reilly and his "No Spin Zone"?

Three years ago, he was still worth watching; however, these days he tends to fill his show with stupid segments and pointless babbling.

I can't stand the body language segment - that's why I stopped watching his show.

Body Language Segment Analysis
"He's resting his hands as a pyramid, which is a way of denoting authority and position."

Regular Person Analysis
Look at him doing that pyramid thing with his hands. If that doesn't say "pretentious and arrogant" I don't know what does.

He just annoys me. news should not be from one persons point of view. So much news these days is delivered by a reporter and they give you their opinion on it. if you did that in NZ no one would ever watch your show again.

O'really is an idiot; I understand he is doing an editorial thing, it seems like almost everyone is and sometimes he raises a good point 1 in 10 chance but the rest of time seems to be the moral-judge of society which is a **bleeping** joke. He reminds me of TV preacher thats always telling us sinner how evil we are and wants a $1,000 donation...

I generally like Fox News, but Bill 'O Reilly is pretty ridiculous. I wouldn't say he's like one of those TV preachers, but he can be close.

I hated when he did that story on how the ACLU were allegedly prosecuting a family who had a Christmas tree(?) in their front yard, when the ACLU were actually the ones defending that family.

I've not watched much, but he seems to always get louder and louder until his guests can't even speak without screaming... It makes me wonder why he has guests in the first place... I loath the man. I think he's a narrow-minded egomaniac.

You're remembering the days when he was still arguing. Last I saw, he's gotten alot quieter and doesn't seem to state an opinion of any kind on most issues. He's also been reporting on alot more pop-culture lately instead of actual news.

Ah, I've mostly only seen him doing interviews in videos I run across online, so that explains that.

You can search for quote yourself (he's talking with McCain) and see that
he just came out with it, he's a damn nazi! (albeit a religious one).

why don't they get Bill Maher on the show? Too bad Carlin died, cause the "Carlin Report" would've been something. Anybody's better than O'Reilley, even I could defeat his flimsy arguments.

I didn't really pay attention much to O'Reilly, but then after having a class that covered media studies, I was appalled by some of the thing he said that just felt like utter ignorance and stupidity.

He had a segment called "Un-American" or something like that. And basically he would find someone he thought was an idiot and label them "Un-American" when it really had nothing to do with being an American. Either that or it just wasn't a big deal to get worked up about and overall the idea was ridiculous.

The title of the segment is not unlike the title of the Prince and the Pauper. It doesn't describe two things as though they are the only categories, but frames them as polar opposites.

Thus, as a patriot loves his country and wishes to see it advance and become stronger; the opposite person would desire for his country to be weakened and grow poor - a person with such a self-destructive attitude towards his home could appropriately be described as a "pin-head".

None the less, that's not the point of the segment. The segment is really two segments (one of the Patriot and another of the pin-head). The segments don't need to be related in any way, they are only put together because it creates a catchy and recognizable name for the segment.

You'd be surprised how many shows Bill Maher refuses to appear on - for example:
Rush Limbaugh offered to debate Mayer on many occasions - Mayer has refused in every case.
Sean Hannity offered Mayer an hour of his show (radio or TV) - Mayer refused to appear.
Mark Levin continues to offer to have Mayer on his program - Mayer refuses to appear.

Mayer has developed an interesting strategy for dealing with people who don't agree with him. Not unlike John Stewart, Mayer babbles any bull shit he sees fit and if he's questioned he simply responds "Hey, don't look at me, I'm just a comedian."

I am in no way defending Bill. I like him, but I also quickly get sick of him.

Ya'll should know that his show out ranks all other news networks in ratings. He is number one right now and has been for awhile. The re-runs of his show is number 3 in the ratings.

Dont quote me but I believe Hanity is number 2
And Beck is number 4.

Funny, the rest of the media organizations make it a point not to follow any of the stories Fox runs. They're also one of the few networks that play any actual 'news'.

1. I do not like watching news at all for anything other than the basics of it because of all the fact that the stations are owned by someone that has bias in there works. Fox I just seem to dislike more than others.

2. I am not talking about calling someone on BS I am talking about how he as many others do turn fact against itself in a way that they have to argue fact.

I like him over Olbermann .. Countdown used to actually be pretty good and funny but now both sides have become really hateful. One problem with Olbermann.. he cites White House statements as official and true accounts of the news.
