United above Arsenal still, although I don't hate Arsenal as much as I did. All the pricks have left (Viera, Ashley Cole, Martin Keown (the ugliest man in world sport), Lauren), and you can't help but love the football they play, sometimes. Fabregas will be the best player in the world some day. How old is he? 12?
Sunderland are my new team now though. Roy Keane is a hero. Greatest midfielder of his era (are you listening Patrick Viera?).
In case you haven't heard, Keane took over as manager of Sunderland a few weeks into the season. They were rock bottom and headed for relegation. They finished as Champions. I guess that puts the Saipan incident to bed. If Roy Keane wanted to manage the team, McCarthy should have gotten the fuck out of his way.
The Ireland Argentina match was pretty good. They won it with a last minute drop goal. It's ok though, because Ireland didn't have a great team out and it was in Argentina. They're playing again this weekend but both teams are putting out B squads.
Match for the weekend is New Zealand v France though. A lot of people have it tipped for the World Cup Final this Autumn (although Ireland will be pushing France. The only problem is that it's in France). Jerry Collins is injured too, which is unfortunate. You can always count on him to cut someone in two and improve Irelands chances.

I always thought it was 4-5 hours away from mains power. But then, who am I to talk about that...
I read through the various posts from our UK members and moderators about soccer (or football, if that makes you northern folk feel better), and I sit there knowing what the posters are talking about, but not having an understanding of it.
So to help the simple drunken mind along, I'm changing the subject slightly. To those members amongst us who aren't kids anymore (both chronologically and psychologically, not one or the other): do you gamble on the sport? Do you support a particular team regularly, or do you have a particular system to decide who you will bet on for a particular match? Or if you don't gamble, why not?

Ireland thumped by Argentina
France stuffed by All Blacks
England decimated by Sth Africa
Wales even lost to the wobbly Aussies
... the northern hemisphere is falling over

The Ireland Argentina match was just terrible. Both teams were crap, Argentina were just crap in a more effecient way.
Both Sivivatu's trys were bullshit. He didn't think the first was a try himself and the second was a forward pass. If it weren't for those it would have been 14-10 instead of game-over after about 60 minutes. France gave up after that so the end was pointless too.
Anyone see Chabal's hit on Masoe? Hehehe. Although clearly he's still haunted by that night in Thomond Park.
I didn't see the England or Wales games. I had to get up a 8am on a Saturday to watch New Zealand v. France. I went back to bed afterwards.

There's going to be a 3rd game, though, and from what I hear both teams are going to go all out to win it. Queensland to obliterate NSW, and NSW to avoid total humiliation.

This weekend the All Blacks play South Africa. The All Blacks coming off a big win against Canada and the Sth Africans, after a shaky win over Aussie.
Its being played in Sth Africa so the Boks will have their tails in the air... time will tell though

I wouldn't read much into the Canada result. I was suprised at the team NZ picked. I expected the second string. In fact, Canada were completely in the game at half-time, and Canada are a 2nd tier side. Then again SA didn't look great either. Styn's drop-goals won it.
Rico Gear signed for Worchester. What?

Yeah, a lot of them are moving to Europe, and I can't help but get the feeling that they consider it a kind of semi-retirement. Super-14 looks pretty intense, and we all saw the best England have to give on their tour to South Africa.
That drop goal was unreal. Some skill to have too, it's like a free 3 points. Even if you miss you get the 22 and you're back where you started. Just catch the 22 and take another drop goal.

Bringing Back to Life!!!
South Africa has their tail between their legs I'm from SA myself and it ain't looking good.
We have a FANTASTIC back line and our forwards are awesome on paper, but our COACHING?!?!?! ...It's Terrible!!! There are no forwards at the break down and the ball keeps getting turned over coz the front-row are in the back-line.
Sure your loose forwards can play with the back but when you find your number two receiving a ball meant for the wing... YOU GOT A PROBLEM!!!
Even Eddie Jones had a go at our coach...
We are supposed to be World Champions, Last year we were, I didn't doubt us beating any team... NOW!? Now I'm almost embarrassed, in fact I am!
Cheers for this thread, nice place to blow some steam.
