Hunting And Fishing
Dose any one else on here hunt or fish? I enjoy both sports very much and was just wondering if any one else had imputs on it as in tips or suggestions. And if theres any non hunters I like to here ya'lls point of view just because it a good Discussion not to argue I just like to hear other peoples point of view.
Edit: Just to say I want respectful hunters on here. I for one hate people who just kill animals for fun. To me hunting is a sport I study the best ways to cleanly kill animals,I dont shoot if I think I mght just wound a animal. Real hunters do their best to not let the animal suffer. Got it?

i usually fish on weekends with my dad on the Columbia river (sturgeon) I just got back the other day from visiting my grandpa in Idaho. We shot over 1000 .22 rounds. Freaking the funnest thing ever! I am hoping to go hunting with my dad and my grandpa this year. (whitetail) We also went fishing (brook trout) We caught about 30 of them and had ourselves a big brooky feed with fried potatoes and cream corn. So basically, yes I fish and yes I hunt. I dont really have any tips on the two awesome sports, but I can tell you that they are two of my favorite things to do in the whole world.

I agree with all of you. I live in a very rural town in North Oregon. The guy that was talking about the Columbia fishing might have heard of a town called Tillamook. I enjoy just plinking with my .22's and blowing up pop cans with my old lever action 30-30. Hunting thread would be awesome.

there is a large expanse out here that I go and plink with a 10/22 just trying to se how far I'm accurate out to... three weeks sees a 1000 rd box of ammo and 5 cleanings.
I don't even feel the recoil anymore and with a .223 its just a light tap now.
there is a place in the woods where no animal dares tread

I envy you so much!!! Lol, me and my dad go out in the mountains and shoot, but not enough. We have houses all around us, even though we live in the woods. Everyone else around us have a canyon to shoot into. Kinda off topic but i shall take this time and show off my rifles just to make my testicles feel big...er.
I am left handed so it is hard to find good rifles.
1. Original German made Weatherby Mark V chambered in 7mm WM
2. Savage shit..should know the model, but it is chambered in .270 rem.
3. Remington 700 BDL, chambered in .270 rem.
4. The generic Lever-action winchester. 30-30
5. Remington speedmaster auto .22 LR
6. Remington i think 512, .22 LR
Sorry about the complete off topicness of this.

How ya'll doin? I am a big outdoors enthusiast. Pretty much anything to do with hunting i love. I am not as into fishing but i do go. Although we have an other outdoors thread and a firearms thread, I wish we had enough people to create a Hunting thread.
Yes i know the term is overused but do I have any fellow Rednecks on here?

5 Pointer
I got my First Whitetail, when I was Fourteen on opening day with my Uncle, it was they first time I went out with a Rifle and I shot a big Five Point Buck. I was up in a treestand and the Dumb Fucking Deer just Stoped like 25 yards in front of me and stared at me. He was probably waiting for me to move but I didn't give him the chance. Droped him right behind the shoulder blade with a 308. It was cool, but it made me all cocky and now I get disapointed every year I don't get anything. I think that made me think that Deer Hunting was easier than it really is.

Im into pig hunting with dogs and a knife. Almost every time we go out we get a few pigs.
Also into shooting other things, goats, deer, rabbits, possums etc.
Im also enjoy going fly fishing for trout, although I havent had much time for that lately.
My guns (pathetic collection but I get by)
Bolt action .22 (must be like 50 years old and the stock is held together with wood screws, but shes accurate)
12 guage
Single shot .308, in case we come across any boars too big to handle with a knife
All my guns are quite old, but when I get some money I will get some newer guns.
EDIT:
Also I forgot, I have an old air rifle, but with a new spring/plunger

I'm gonna change the name of this thread to "Hunting and Fishing" because thats what it is about. If people want to talk about another sport, they can just start a new thread. Just to try and keep things specific.
So just to clarify: This thread used to be called "Other Outdoor Sports" - it didn't just appear from nowhere with 17 posts.

Well i'm in the UK.
Soooo, as far as firearms go, nowhere close to most of you guys but i'll give you what I got!
Well, in this field my first love is Hunting with air rifles, I dont have an FAC (Firearms certificate if you dont know) so everything I have is at the legal limit of 12ft/lbs.
Depending on the land, I shoot Rabbits, rats, Corvids, squidgys and generally any small game that can be considered "vermin" (The only reason you may shoot any animal in the UK on private land is "pest control")
I have a 6 acre crop protection permission from a farmer who hates using his shotgun near the furrows, and i also do pest control on a local golf course.
My list of Rifles is located below:
Weirauch HW77K .22 + Simmons 3-9x50 Milldot - Great underlever, VERY accurate
Air Arms S200T .177 + Nikko sterling night eater 3-16x50 truplex Fantastic for HFT aswell as in the field, I use it mostly for hide shooting , its also deadly quiet and has a multishot converter oh, and before i forget, it's a precharged.
BSA Meteor MK2 .22 + Iron sights - My first ever rifle. given to me when i was 8. It is VERY old, my dad had it before me from the age of about 14!
And a semi decent Umarex .177 CO2 berreta clone.
------------------
In the past, I have used firearms. My Uncle Jim Has a firearms certificate and the safe and everything (FAR too much effort for me to bother with) He has a 12 bore over/under Skeet gun, I've never fired that, but it is BEAUTIFUL! He also has a .22 Rimfire which I have fired a couple of shots with (I went fox lamping with him one night, as his lamp boy and he lemme have a pop, Few shots at exploding chalkies to get my eye in and eventually a shot at a fox, Completley fucked up my eleveation and the bullet piled into the ground about 10 meters before where the fox was).
The only other time i've fired a firearm was when i went skeet shooting....I'm only a small guy, but it really took the piss when i was refused the same gun as all of the other guys and had to use a childs/womans 410!
Jesus I got the crap ripped outta me that day.
OH, im also quite into longbow archery with just a basic recurve and long aluminium arrows.......it's only a 35lb'er but it does me well!
Wow, that was a lot of typing! Sorry bout that.

Im really big into traditional bows no soghts or any thing I have a bear recurve and a no name long bow. The recurve is 45 and the long bow is 35. I wouldent think of deer hunting with them till I get a stronger bow but for rabbits its fun as hell.
