just another thought: Could it be something someone could throw together in their garage? Like "Omg, that crazy guy down the street has a chainsaw gun". Or even for millitary displays, there could be a unit of RPC trained marines who never get deployed.

Frankly, a rocket-propelled-chainsaw could be the coolest idea I have ever heard in my life. I would dedicate my life and wealth just to produce a single working unit.

I reckon a rocket-propelled, big-ass symmetrical blade / spike would be awesome. You could shoot it through a tree or a brick wall, pull it out then fire again until it breaks somehow.

The only thing thats worth building would be a rocket propelled spike.
i might do it since i already have a launcher built for rockets and all i would need to do would to be build the spike.

the battery pack i have has a safety switch on it that you have to flick before firing it doubles as a foregrip. Not that you need it some rpg's don't have them.

with a homing device a spike could be used to kill someone from long range when sniping is not possible.

Well, it'd help if you didn't want an explosion causing collateral/attracting attention. Of course a rocket engine isn't that quiet either.

its semi-quiet depending on its power and composition.
with a tripod and accurate measurements im sure you could send the rocket in a arc so there wouldn't be any fuel left on the way down. It would be more like a spear except rocket propelled.
