Default Question about Weightgainers

Hi, been lurking over here at bombshock for a while now, but this is the first time i've registered; hey all

Just a question about weightgainers; what are some good weightgainers which seem to be very effective yet are low glycemic carbohydrates, and also seem to have a fairly decent pricetag?

I've been looking at some weightgainers like Progain however I havnt yet purchased anything because im inexperienced and have never tried with weightgainers . . .

Any tips or such are helpful,

Progain is simply whey protein with a few nutrients thrown in. If you're looking to gain muscle, stick with simple whey protein, to save money.

or if you don't want to spend the money, just eat a good balanced diet.
All those protein shakes etc are just shit like bananas, stacks of multivitamins etc crammed into it, you can get the same effect without using that stuff, just switch to a protein rich diet (eggs are high in protein for example)

Exactly, whilest they do help, they can also be a big waste of money, seeing how you can get the same effects without starving yourself just by eating healthily

yeah most of those "weightgainers" are a complete waste of money when you can make your own with the same nutrition facts and sometimes a better taste. I started a new thread in this forum on elevating testosterone with the recipe I made for whey protein shakes that help build muscle/put on weight.

Ok, thanks, sorry for the late response; I've been busy.

I do eat a good diet, around 5 decent meals a day with most of them high in protein; yet sometimes when Im busy I find it hard to include these, hence why I was looking for an easy protein shake just to fill in gaps where I can't have a healthy snack as such ...

I've looked at your recipe grimR and i'll try something along those lines instead of buying those protein shakes .... the only reason why I wasnt thinking of going for something high in carbs was cos im diabetic, however il try it anyway; shouldn't cause any problems

I use to know some little bird chested pricks who took all that protien crap, and barely ate throughout the day. Needless to say years later they're still little bird chested pricks.

If you eat sensetive people food, then you'll probably be weak all your life.

I'm currently 6,3' 205Lbs, and I can still olley over two feet high objects, and down stairs. I can also pick up someone almost twice my weight by there lower legs and put them on there back.

It's been a long time since I've been in a fight though.

Greenflame, you've got me wrong.
Im off healthy weight for my age and height, 5"10 and around 160 pounds and am not enough of a prat to replace main meals with protein shakes or such; I've just mearly been looking for an occassional alternative for small snacks I have throughout the day that arn't some old crap and will help give my body an extra boost of protein or such

Very true.

Plus the amount of protein found in most of these products is extreme overkill and in some cases counter-productive.
