Well i'm new and my nick comes from a class mate (i don't surf or anything.

But anyway i have been fencing for 3 years and
I'm not a very big guy, but i'm tall and fit and extreamly quick, with a affinity with adrenalin

This fall i started in a new class were we have 2 wannabe bodybuilders, and i'm not afraid but not feeling very nice when they are around, it's like if they wanted to kick my ass, and are just waiting for the right moment
But i don't really want to get into a big fight and have everyone to talk about it for months behind my back.

So i would like some advise on how to train so if (or when) those guys decide to take me down i would like to be able to just in a split second counter and end the fight.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the threads. Just do the basics. Eat healthy. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Meats and carbs. Weight lift and body weight excercises. Run alot and jump rope. If the fight ever does come... Fight dirty. Punch in the throat, neck, and nuts. also kick the knee joint. Another good one is to tear at the persons skin. Pull hair and rip out earings. Bite. Stick fingers in nose and tear at the cartlifge inside. Do what ever to cause pain. You could also just join a boxing or kickboxing gym. Wrestling also helps. And ofcourse carry around a bat, knife, or gun. If you would like any specific excercises PM me.

sorry, i didn't think i'd have to do this, but. crzydan, please refrain from posting advice and/or posting all together untill you actually develop a brain in your head....

In regards to training, it depends on what goals you want to achieve. Saying you want to be able to kick someone ass, is a very broad goal, if it's even considered a goal at all.
First thing is first, you'd need to look at your diet, as this is going to fuel your workout routine. Without fuel for your muscles, you won't be getting anywhere anytime soon.
Once again, you'd need to be a little more specific with what exactly it is you want to gain

i'm no training guru i just want to be able to defend myself with my own body, not cause pain just defend myself

Edit: in sweden all kinds of weapons are strictly banned.

Haha, now i can specify, i want to get arm strength (we did some test in school my legs and back got 5/5 in strength) but i don't want to grow big, so that i can suprise my opponent(s).

Pull ups, push ups. Higher rep excercises to build resistance in your muscles. Low-medium weight, high rep. You might want to throw in a power session once a week though.

low rep, heavy weight. Works on building mass, muscular density and strength etc.
As always, correct me if im wrong if you have a more clear cut definition or something.

That's how I always phrased it.

Low rep-heavy weight=muscle
High rep-light weight=tone

I too am trying to build muscle this year as i am 6"1 and 14 years of age. I am very skinny too. Here is some information I have dug up.

I don't want to buy muscle building supplements so instead eat high protein foods. Here is a list I have found:
http://www.weightlossforall.com/prot...ood_source.htm

as far as muscle exercises, i don't want to buy any fancy equipment (except i already have a rowing machine and exercise bike) so i will stick to basic exercises. A site with a heap of info on this is here:

Well becasue your only 14 your still definatly growing and your more then likely going to fill out.Your best bet right now would be to go to a gym and talk to a personal trainer and explane what you want. They will be able to help you more then any website. Oh and surfer boy try to take a crash course in kick boxing. learn how to block or mitigate punches. If these guys are just meatheads there probably goign to be slow and with out any combat training they will telegraph their punches and go for the one hit KO's. Hands up chin down. Aim for the face with your hands, aim for the knees wiht your legs.

Not bad links there alchemist.
And i'd agree with what napalm said. Speak to a personal trainer.
And agree with his comments to surfer boy. If they are just "meatheads"/bullies, chances are they won't know shit when it comes to martial arts/self defence/propper fighting, and won't expect you to know, or fight back/stand up for yourself. Take up some lessons and learn to defend yourself, otherwise problems can and will keep occurring.

Anybody have any advice for getting rid of extra skin? I've recently lost some weight and I was wondering if there was anything other than cocoa butter?

thanks napalmiscool and Jago. I am going to be talking with a trainer in a couple days (already scheduled). I'm gonna be doing stuff at the gym and at home.
.... Oh yeah and by the way, recently I have been doing heaps of squats and now my upper legs have a lot of muscle on them. amazing how such simple exercises can make huge differences.

Only other thing i've heard of is surgery. Or, fill it back up with muscle

Good to hear alchemist, hope things go well for you, and good to hear about your gains too. I'm sure that's enough motivation for you

i was wondering, i need to loose weight and not really building muscle i have enaugh of that, so just loosing weight and improving my stamina and speed aswell, what would be a good and efficient way to do this and if it helps an any way i'm 5"11 and i weigh 193lbs. and one last thing oddly me left arm is bigger and stronger than my right arm and i'm right handed, i've tried only working out my right arm but it doesn't seem to work and even more oddly my left seems to improve when i work out my right arm, i will exepting any suggestions exept for working on my left arm, i know that doesn't work and i'd like to keep everything pretty simple.
