I've had loads of *ridiculous* electric shocks, from mains, oscilloscopes (ouch), microwaves (double ouch) and live TV anode caps ( ... ) - what about your stories?
-- Posted by Hergor on 10:39 am on Feb. 28, 2002
not much, but two months ago it struck me quite hard when removing a huge 20000 uF capacitor off of a sliding-door motor's emergency power supply.
-- Posted by ActionTimedDeath on 11:07 am on Feb. 28, 2002 Your trusty screwdriver must have loads of toast marks on it! ;)
-- Posted by Hergor on 11:59 am on Feb. 28, 2002 when i think about it, my hand starts itching... ;)

I used to work on a sound & lighting crew, and had the good fortune to work on 1200 amp 3-phase 220 volt disconnects & distributions all the time... fortunately I never made a boo-boo. However, suprisingly one of the more painful shocks in my life was when I was 13. Ever try licking a 9-volt battery to see if it's good? Not too painful, stings a little. Well, I got the bright idea to short the battery across my upper & lower orthodontic braces. WHAM! Gave me a freaking headache & I literally saw stars... must've crossed a nerve or three...

HAHA i can remember last year in school spitting in the convector heater and watch it smoke, then because it was so old, the skool had taken off the heat knob so it couldnt be changed, so i used a pair of scissors to try and change and pow! Fucking hell i was scared, got a electric shock, and there was a huge flash, then i looked at the scissors and the ends were melted together :S
-- Posted by dellexo on 1:56 pm on Mar. 1, 2002 I came close to death years ago.We broke into a dissused hospital to steal the old steel armourd cable, found nothing apart from one long run about 150mtrs.I was just about to cut it close to the gland and i thought i best test it first just in case it was still energised.I opend the panel and using a pair of insulated pliers and a spanner shorted out two phases on the busbars.Fucking hell:o did it go.It melted the spanner and blew a fuck-off lump out ot the busbars,i was lucky i didn't even get a burn or arc eye.Must of been bad because it took out sevral streets be warned,DON'T FUCK WITH 3 PHASE!!!! unless you are qualified to do so or you have a death wish.

Fucking hell, dellexo!
-- Posted by Pyroclasm on 7:29 pm on Mar. 4, 2002 urrrr well mine is pretty lame compared to that 3 phase thingy lmao, but its a good idea for a little stunner anyway, maybe u guys could find some way of amplifying it, but- me an my mate were just fuckin round with a disposable camera, and when we opened it up we saw some lil signs sayin dun fiddle with it and risk of electric shock etc, but anyway, bein dumb an 13 we carried on openin it up, and we saw there was a little capacitor inside it, we managed to figure that it packed a small punch , so we got rid of all the camera crap until we had just the circuitry and the batteries left, wen we charged it by puchin the flash on button, and then touched the two terminals that would have had the flash bulb connected to it with a peice of metal, there was quite a nice shock given off, i dropped it on my lap nce wen it was charged, and my body sorta felt pretty worn out from the shock, but the lucky thing is that it was about 1 inch away from touchin somethin that woulda been v. painful lol! but we had a great time shockin my neighbours cat,

-- Posted by Zambosan on 10:12 am on Mar. 12, 2002 You really are a tool. I guess you just don't have any other plans for your dick, huh?
-- Posted by confuzious on 6:15 pm on Mar. 12, 2002 A couple years ago me and some friends were fucking around with the idea of running a wire from the 3'rd rail of a subway as power for a homemade rail gun, and I am lucky to be alive. I don't really remember much of the incident itself, but i've hated subways ever since.
-- Posted by bigboom on 2:54 am on Mar. 13, 2002
my dicks fine in fact at the moment it happened it hurt my ass mor the anywhere else later that day my left hand hurt pretty bad and to this day at times fills weird
-- Posted by Zambosan on 11:43 am on Mar. 13, 2002
The left one hurts from all the chafing it's been subjected to. It also explains the hairy palms.
-- Posted by confuzious on 1:17 pm on Mar. 14, 2002 I wasn't shocked directly by the rail. If i had i would be pretty crispy, but i was shocked through a wooden pole that i was using to push the wire onto the rail. I guess it must not have been comepletly dry.
-- Posted by trowe on 6:50 pm on Mar. 23, 2002 i agree with irish man although one time, my dad asked me to pull out his 225 arc welder. i was dumb enogh too pull it out touching 3 of the four huge ass prongs on the damn thing. wholly fuck was i messed after that. i dont even really remember except my arm was numb and spasming for awhile and it hurt like fucking HELL.

One time i was on a farm which had electrical fences that were really dodgy, anyway i was walking alongside a fence and i was tired and was walking up a hill so i decided to use the fence to help me as i walked up the hill, the thing is that the fence wasnt working in some sections and when i reached a working section i got a huge elctronic shock which hurt quite a bit, i think it hurt most cause i was already holding onto the wire.

I used to rent an apartment that had a messed up outlet with a hot ground. Found out about it when I plugged an old XT in to test it then grabbed the chassis.
-- Posted by twiztidgit on 2:03 pm on April 2, 2002 I know how to electrocute sum1 easily, jus put two staples into someones arm and use a taser on em, trust me from first hand experience (IT HURTS!)
-- Posted by monkey man on 1:32 am on April 4, 2002 get a regular wire that comes out of a lamp ore something. then split the two sides and take off the plastic around the wire. the plug it in and touch your self with them. dont put the wires together.
-- Posted by monkey man on 1:40 am on April 4, 2002 get a regular wire that come s out of a lamp or some thing. the split the two charges + ,- then reveal the copper or silver colored wiriing and plug it in. then touch your self with them.(dont touch them together unless you want fire works.
-- Posted by Zambosan on 10:31 am on April 4, 2002 Perhaps a poorly-trained monkey like yourself needs instructions on how to shock themselves with wall current, but the rest of us don't.
-- Posted by monkey man on 8:06 pm on April 4, 2002 look!! zambomana...something. i happen to know the best way to revive a pigeon. (not like i would revive it after i kill it.)but i know more than you.
-- Posted by drlecter on 8:10 am on April 6, 2002 the school/sixthform i attend has a lovely three phase power supply in the kids dram studio at kids height with lovely kiddy finger size connector holes im just waiting to find some smokey shoes. Oh and one day the dude who does the lighting was changing over three phase to single phase and fell from the roof and was left hanging from a live sparky three phase cable he was sodding lucky i tell u.

Well, I used to build Tesla Coils (ok, still do). One of my smaller ones used a 15kV neon sign transformer. These guys are current limited but at 120mA, more than enough to kill. They're also center-tapped with the case connected to the center (still don't know why, but they're like that). Anyway, I managed to get my arm across the case and one side of the x-former. 7500v, knocked me clean across the room. Had a nice burn from by elbow to my wrist.

-- Posted by drlecter on 6:24 pm on April 8, 2002 Not nasty at all just funny i decided to make one of the camera stucn guns and decided to solder an extra couple of caps to the circuit shocked my self about 5 tiems then i went to get the marigolds lol.
-- Posted by Radiant on 11:39 am on April 9, 2002
KrazyKilo dont act like you know stuff!
-- Posted by Molitolv Volkov on 9:40 pm on April 9, 2002 Krazykilo. your fucked up in the head. If you are smart then you'll not say stupid shit. The idea is good to use a subway as power but you need a way to break the circut plus you probably sont know the first thing about railguns.
