Oh and one day the dude who does the lighting was changing over three phase to single phase and fell from the roof and was left hanging from a live sparky three phase cable he was sodding lucky i tell u. -- Posted by TimCaton on 1:59 am on April 7, 2002 Well, I used to build Tesla Coils (ok, still do).  One of my smaller ones used a 15kV neon sign transformer.  These guys are current limited but at 120mA, more than enough to kill.  They're also center-tapped with the case connected to the center (still don't know why, but they're like that).  Anyway, I managed to get my arm across the case and one side of the x-former.  7500v, knocked me clean across the room.  Had a nice burn from by elbow to my wrist. Another fun one was from the distibutor cap on my 62 corvette.  The bakelite was cracked and it got me when I leaned on it.  Don't know the voltages there, but in the several thousand range.
