Coz the pins wouldnt fall in the right places, unless the vending machine locks are different in some way :S??? Haha hehe.  The idea about the clay key must meen you have been watching too many Mission Impossable programs and have no idea how a pin tumbler lock works. Go to some auto supply store and get a car door lock, take it apart and learn how it works. If you want to mess up the lock to piss off someone just put a little superglue in the keyhole. To mess up the clock in the machine, try pulling the plug for a couple minutes. Some machines have an internal computer clock that has its own battery and will not be affected, other machines go burzerk and need to be reset by the pepsi guy. -- Posted by Hergor on 2:06 pm on Mar. 6, 2002 no, i stick to my thermite. you just need to know how to use it. yeah, it will get hot. hot, hot, hot. as hot as to keep the vending machines outer case glowing red for some time. i assume everyone knows that it is best to make a circle out of thermite jelly on the vm's front. then you just need to get a prybar and either knock the 'welded-out' plate into the machine (if it has some space inside) or pry it out... the bright flame is unimportant for it is night and usually (if you don't pick a vm in your city's 'bar-and-disco district') nobody is awake to see the flame... but you're right with the pin-tumbler lock. that clay thing won't work. After the lock is opened there is a big long shaft that is unscrewed a bunch of times for the door to open. Using the thermite will make this very difficult. These machines do not lock and unlock like the door on your house.  The front may be bendy plastic on the outside but behind that there are wires, switches, lights and a bunch of other stuff then a heavy metal panel which is the actual door frame.  If you have the time and no one sees you, use a 7 1/4 inch power saw ( skill saw ) with an 1/8 inch thick metal cutting blade and cut what ever you think is in the way. I've used this to cut 8 ft long 1/8 inch steel plate many times.  The light from the thermite, at night is a big problem, because it can be seen from a quarter mile away. During the day, Sunlight will completly outshine it and nobody would notice. Take a look during a electrical storm at night and you will see what I mean. This is the reverse of when I was a teenager, I was trying to break out of school ( one day a week the last class was a study hall period and roll call was not taken so every once in a while I would sneek out the rear door until one afternoon a  teacher saw me walking down a street somewhere, I got 2 weeks detention for it ). Get a 7 1/4inch skill saw with a 1/8inch thick metal cutting blade ( bring spare blades in case of breakage ),  oxyacetalyne cutting torch, a BFG ( that is engineering talk for a big fucking hammer ), crow bar and a good heavy duty cold chizel. With these tools you should be able to remove the change tray with ease. Should work on Coke machines also. Did some contract work for a company that built safes to test them. He asked a good question, which obvioulsy noone here has the answer coz your all just bitching at him. If you cant help, dont say anything. I live in the UK so the machines here may be slightly different but, at college if you put in your money (I usually use a Ģ1 coin) then once your moneys in kick the front of the machine, pretty hard but not so hard that the plastic breaks. Then you will find that a bottle of Coke/Pepsi will fall out and your money will fall out too. Im not sure if this would work on all these machines but it does at my college. And, blowing it up is definatly not the answer, especially if its in a populated area. try what I said if that dont work then I dont know. You'd be best off getting a manual that goes into detail about how the machines system works, then workout a way to exploit the system. And every system has a flaw init waiting to be exploited. This is dangerous stuff. don't touch it, and make sure you can get away because if you think you can do this in some hall at school, consider this: thermite burns through the machine-then the floor and under the floor. maybe even start a fire. You can't put just anything on the floor and just collect it. Maybe a bowl with dirt or sand in it. I have heard that this is the way to get the pepsi and the money out of the newer machines. The machine has to use a 115vac power source connected to the wall. If you tear off the little piece of plastic that covers the digital money amount readout off you will see tiny little connectors behind it on the LED panel. I think what you do is use a homeade stun gun from a disposable camera(get the instructions on this site) and connect the stun gun contacts to the connectors on the machine. Charge up and ZAP!!!! What this will do is fry the entire circuit board of the pepsi machine. When this happens all of the money that is used for change will drop out of the machine and depending on the machine either one of each soda will come out or all of them will fall out. Once you fry the circuit board it automatically shuts off everything in the machine including the refridgaration. When this happens the releases inside the machine activate and then become inactive. Whala there you have it a ton of quarters and a bunch of soda. I would discourage anyone from doing this though. You will probably get arrested and into some serious trouble. Just buy the damn soda. -- Posted by Zambosan on 12:06 pm on April 3, 2002 If you fry the circuit board, the machine will just go dead.  It's not going to magically start releasing change and soda rapid-fire; the mechanisms that do that are driven by *active* electromechanical devices that get their mechanical energy from solenoids.  So if the control logic is fried, nothing is going to direct the solenoid to fire.  You'd also be surprised at how good the overvoltage protection is on modern processors and interface electronics from *good* manufacturers (Chinese and Korean parts are notoriously bad, however).  It just might withstand it.  If the manufacturer spent the extra few bucks on optical isolation in their interface circuitry, all you'll do is fry the LED drivers, nothing else.  I do agree with one thing... just buy the fecking soda. -- Posted by thadon41 on 4:02 pm on April 3, 2002 Yeah, just BUY the goddamn soda.for fuck sake!..lmao but if you like the challenge..try the lock thing someone said before. dont know about picking it but you could maybe try and get some sort of master key for that kind of lock..dunno could be worth a go. If the machine does tell by the weight of the coin  then it will just think you have inserted a real coin.
