hey yall ,

Heh heh heh heh. Can you write in x86 machine code? In c? Can you think of a way to get past the virus protection systems that have had thousands of clever brains working on them?
-- Posted by Zambosan on 10:43 am on Feb. 14, 2002 Hehe... astute response, ATD. Classical viruses have such an easily recognizable signature and modus operandi that antiviral software is pretty effective against them. Worms are much easier to implement, mainly because there's so many options in terms of protocols and server software to exploit. And as far as script languages (I hesitate to confer the mantle of "high level language" upon them in a strict sense because they lack abstraction mechanisms), as soon as one person writes one, a bazillion skript kiddies cannabalize it to do basically the same thing... social-engineer morons who are so thrilled that anyone emailed them they'll open just about anything.

here is a piece of batch code you can use to generate a virus.

our skool computers dont have virus scanners
-- Posted by Just0nePepsi on 4:26 pm on Feb. 15, 2002 Lamer, learn some english you fucker. If you don't know any at least try to make some sense. Your a cuntrag! Tell your mom to suck a penis you ho!

Zambosan, I read somewhere here you are a SoC engineer.
-- Posted by Zambosan on 10:45 am on Feb. 19, 2002
Wow, my favorite lil' 8 bit micro! :) Yes, I actually used a 68HC11A1FN for my senior project in CE... I used it as the main processor to control an automatic electric guitar tuner, using a TI DSP as a filtering coprocessor. I got sick of writing in assembly, so I forked out about $200 for a commercial C compiler... let's see if I can find it.

It's sorted now, anyway! After a day of juggling around and editing around 35 different files and 32767 (! may as well be) different command switches, not to mention the bloody linker and library editor - I finally got the damn thing to download useable code. Which is fucking excellent since I've been meaning to get the C going for weeks.
-- Posted by Zambosan on 2:27 pm on Feb. 26, 2002 Are you using servos or steppers for the actuators, or writing your own PID controller for some basic motors? Tight motor control loops aren't exactly where 8Mhz 8-bit micros shine... ... but you might still be able to squeak something useful out if there isn't much other application code that needs to run.
-- Posted by ActionTimedDeath on 6:06 am on Feb. 27, 2002
No stepper, no servos, just cheapy crappy motors. And yes, slow processors aren't suited for 'rubbish motor' control! But that's what I've got to play with!
-- Posted by Zambosan on 10:00 am on Feb. 27, 2002 I gotcha. Yeah, if you're just calculating distance and integrating the tacho pulses to determine X-Y coordinates, that should be doable. I was envisioning a tight velocity/position control loop... that's a bit more involved in both system analysis and computational load. If either response time or error are a critical factor, you'll have a bitch of a time dealing with stability issues, particularly with cheap motors due to all the variability and slow response.

This is an easy virus that will screw up a computer easily:

a yeah hi.
-- Posted by XxBULAxX on 11:14 am on Mar. 4, 2002
Are u asking me that?
-- Posted by Durf22 on 4:51 pm on Mar. 4, 2002 does that really work
-- Posted by XxBULAxX on 6:50 pm on Mar. 4, 2002 yea...if u do it right
-- Posted by Just0nePepsi on 6:54 pm on Mar. 4, 2002
Ok you n00b this:
-- Posted by XxBULAxX on 6:59 pm on Mar. 4, 2002 actually i do make virii....I just wrote that because it will do the same thing as deleting it, but it will display the message every time the pc is restarted...plus I didn't have time to write an advanced program...
-- Posted by Zambosan on 4:20 pm on Mar. 5, 2002 Oh I see, you didn't have time to write a proper virus. Please. We wouldn't want to tax your imagination, now would we?
-- Posted by XxBULAxX on 6:18 pm on Mar. 5, 2002 I have a program that writes a batch(autoexec) that will wipe out a hard drive...you can select which drive and every thing...E-Mail me if NE1 wants a copy....xxbulaxx@attbi.com
-- Posted by somefukinsnapov on 2:05 am on Mar. 6, 2002 i can sense a hack war coming on here!!and bula has just given away his hq!!hey pepsi,i can only iomagine what ull do with this;)hehehe,a little homework for the masses!!LOL,a new arnor maybe:)
-- Posted by Lowman on 3:43 am on Mar. 6, 2002 I dont think there will be a hacker war there are too many n00bs. Who dont know enough and still use windows.
-- Posted by yourunforgivenII on 10:19 pm on Mar. 27, 2002
hehe i use windows just cuz my dad would kick my as if i put linux on my comp. i finally put it on but i cant find my bootdisk and my cdrom drive is a bitch.. wont read!
-- Posted by chroniccrescent on 1:02 am on Mar. 31, 2002
hey, im totally unsure when it comes to computers, but whats so good with linux? i know what it is, an os, but what makes it so good, and also, whats a unix machines, r those computer lab machines?
-- Posted by thadon41 on 1:17 am on Mar. 31, 2002
Linux is NOT so good. it is only so good if you know what your doing. If you have a real need for it and want to get all technical with your OS..Alot of Lamers will say shit like 'Oh Linux is amazing fuck windows' just because they read a stupid ass JollyRoger phile that said so..well they are dumb as fuck.
-- Posted by Lowman on 8:13 pm on April 1, 2002 Linux is alot better then windows to me any way. Your right though you have to know what you doing with it. It's not GUI like windows except if you use x-windows or somthing like that. But there is alot more useablity with it. But if you are using a home computer just for word processing and surfing the web just use windows.
