The highest quality opium comes from the pod. Place a horizontal slice (not deep, just enough to prick the surface) on the pod surface. The white goop that comes out is raw opium. Let it turn brown, then scrape it. YOu can also extract fairly decent stuff from other parts of the plant w/ methyl alcohol. Seriously, I have personally seen a tg pod grow to the size of a baseball! Keep them in full sunlight (or as full as possible). The first few weeks are particularly important-keep them damp, but not too wet (you'll be able to tell by looking at them whether or not they are ok). when they start to develop true leaves (about 4"high" weed them to about 8 inches apart from each other (pruning out the smaller weaker plants, leaving the stongest & tallest). after roughly 60-90 days, you should see buds. Let them flower. After the flower has been open for 2-3 days, pull the petals off (do this in the evening). The next morning, slice as per my previous post (for some reason, morning is the most productive time to havest the sap).
