Science Alliance is normally pricey as a bitch, but it's all I can find...
-- Posted by Rebo on 5:29 pm on April 9, 2002 well, I'M not using it for anything, but theoretically it might be used in ghb synth, to soak up impurities that the steam distillation left behind
-- Posted by 4N4rKi3 b0mZz3 r k3w on 9:20 pm on April 9, 2002 Oh, what impurities are produced?
-- Posted by Rebo on 4:27 pm on April 10, 2002 mainly lactone. It's not actually toxic, and it is not possible to get all of the lactone out. Most of it comes out during the steam purification, but a boiling stone would get more out. Like I said, the trace amounts of lactone found in crystalline GHB wont kill you, but if there is too much it will give you a headache (and taste like urine). You could theoretically ingest gbl, and get a psychotropic effect, but I would definitely not recommend it. The headache from GBL would be pretty unbearable, and gbl has not been shown to be as safe as GHB
