Just wonderin', i've allways used blackpowder and other shit to make explosives~ i heard that if you crush the stick inside the model rocket engin, it can be used as a low order of blackpowder. is this true? is it stable when mixed with napom and the like? since its more readaly Available, i think i should start using it. is it more/less powerful? what explosives can be made? any insight please . . .

Some is less powerful than black powder, some is more powerful.

Yes, the fuel of Estes model rocket engines is black powder (or pyrodex, take your pick). It's quite stable, as far as explosives go, and can be safely crushed and powdered with a hammer. Once you have it down to a fine powder, be especially careful of sparks, since just one can ignite fine black powder quite readily.
-- Posted by logan on 4:03 pm on Mar. 31, 2002 sicopath~ i want it to be more easy to ignite, i'm working on a claymore mine thats long burning, and capable of fucking up a house. since this powder is more acessable, I plan on making more bombs with this (I can buy a shit load without an I.D).

You really are simple creatures.
-- Posted by Sicopath on 7:23 pm on April 1, 2002 Frankly, we don't give a fuck, and if you wanna be picky, they're high order explosives and low order explosives.
-- Posted by 4N4rKi3 b0mZz3 r k3w on 5:42 am on April 2, 2002 Commonly referred to as high and low explosives. Why don't we all give up abbreviations while we're at it? No more HMTD for me... I guess I'll have to stick to hexamethylenetriperoxidediamine. Come on, give me a break. High and low explosives.

well actually claymores can do a fair bit of damage, the fire out bout 200 grames of ballbearings, at a muzzel velocity of about 1700 meters per second
-- Posted by SIN NeMeSiS on 11:13 am on April 4, 2002 lol yeah Shrapnel5 i gotta agreee with ya. A claymore packet with rocket explosive isnt really gonna do much damage to a House, to people, hell yeah but not much to a house. try using some Black powder in more quantity, or use C4!!;-)

Thanx you guys~ but you don't know what kind of bomb I'm making. I need a fast burning charge to light the explosives I'm working on. I need to know if the powder would be strong enough to light my bomb (I can buy more of this than black powder). I'm working on a sort of a plastic explosive. still in first stages of design, it looks good so far. Once I test it (If it works), I'll post it for you guys. Realy powerful! -Thanx-

MOD's, you can delete this now, it's just a waste of space. I'm done my bomb. my bomb. oh how I love, my bomb. It's fucking awesome! I would post the results, but I'll just be a waste of space. I'll tell you this though, it's nito, napom, rocket powder charged, .40 Cal. ballbareing evil son-of-a-bitch! I usally don't draw, but what the hell. Here it goes:
