Hey! Somebody know, how can I make subj with acetone?(isophorine isn't an explosive, but I want to try to make trinitromethane with it )

however, if you wanna make trinitromethane you have to let acetylene flow through nitric acid. ;)

i'm sorry, i don't know what isophorine is. any chance you mean isophorone?

i tried to read some sense into the reaction but i think you're facing a hard time when trying to get trinitromethane from isophorone...

for isophorone looks somehow like this:

               CH3        H
                \          /
                 C====C
                /          \
           H-C-H         C=O
                \          /
                 C-----C-H
                / \       |
           CH3  CH3   H

and trinitromethane is this:

                  NO2
                  |
              H-C-NO2
                  |
                  NO2

so you'd have to create whole new structures.

but i may be wrong. what do the others say ?
